Did I mention that the motor is using up about 1 quart of oil every two weeks. Sounds like I may have bought a lemon, or a motor that wasn't built correctly or tuned correctly. It only has about 3000 miles on the new motor. Can't believe its using oil like that. It's not like it smoke blue...
Cel is throwing lean code in bank 1. Backfires once in a while. Hesitates at low speed and part throttle. I replaced both o2 sensors. Code comes back. Is 10.5 to 1 dangerously rich? Doesn't make sense, lean code and rich tune. Bottom line, can't get the lean code to stay away.
Local performance shop is saying that running my engine rich could have ruined my fuel injectors and also my piston rings. Previous owner had the AF mix at 10.5 to 1. Is there cause for concern?

My 5 speed is making a whine that is getting louder. It occurs in 5th gear around 60mph+ and starts to go away when i go slower than that. I can hear it a little in 4th, but only at higher speeds. 1st, 2nd and 3rd I don't hear it. The noise is pretty loud now and only appears when I'm on the...
95 Cobra vs. 2000 GT
Well, I have both the 95 Cobra and a 2000 GT. Before modding the GT, and with exhaust done to both, not much different at the track. Both feel about the same in the seat of the pants. Both were doing 14.2's at around 96-98 mph. Neither were hooking up very well.
KB IMO
Well, I've been running a KB on my stock 2000 GT block for 30,000 miles now. I've seen about 20 trips down the track too with this kit. I have a 1.7L KB without an intercooler. I run 8psi most of the time. Runs great on 93 octane. Power is 385rwhp and i get time slips around 12.5...
Ok. I got a spark tester and tried it on the wire from the coil to the distributor. Nothing. I tried the tester on my Explorer and it blinked when I did the same thing. So, does that exclude the PIP sensor now? Should it be the cap, rotor or coil now?
Check which sensor on the distributor? How do you tell it's bad?
Also, I never replaced a distributor, is it difficult? Anything tricky to avoid messing up the timing?

Driving down the road, car shuts off and then won't restart. Turns over, but won't fire up. Up to that point, no issues with running rough or anything. I changed the fuel filter, still doesn't start. Fuel pump comes on when I turn the key 1/2 way. I bled the fuel line a little with the schrader...

Crap
I don't like my BBK X-pipe. Raspy, sounds like theres a heat shield loose or something. I've had it tightened many times, two time re-installed professionally. I don't like it. At full throttle, it sounds good and mean, but just normal driving it sounds bad. QUality isn't too good...
75k w/ kenne bell
My 00 GT has 75,000 miles and I installed my Kenne Bell kit about 8000 miles ago. No issues, runs great. No change in motor, still sounds and runs smooth. Tranny is holding up too. I'm been down the track about 100+ times before the kit and about 25 times after the kit...
