Wheel and Tire Suggestions? -- 65 Mustang -- PICS!

Go with ROH zs racing, they have an awesome look, and if you still have drums, they will help hide them to some extent.

How to do a Proper Wax/buffing Job.

buy a bottle of 3M perfect-it 3000 (if it is really bad, use extra cut instead of perfect-it) and if you have a buffer, a nice foam pad. Use that to buff it out, there is no set time for it. It can be done by hand if you have no buffer but it will turn out better with an electric buffer...

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

I forgot to add, are there any safety reasons for me to use 18 instead of 20 gauge sheet for the firewall. I bent it out of 20 gauge but I will be rolling beads in it as soon as I fab up the pans. 20 gauge is so close to 18, I don't think it will make a difference, especially after I insulate...

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

I have had to work on my boat almost every night to get it ready for summer and I have been working 10 hour days to pay off my daily driver (04 Grand Prix) which I am happy to report will happen today. My buddy is coming over today to work on his truck and the mustang so tomorrow I will post...

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

Nice, there sure are a ton of beads though. On a side note, I made some of my first panels but now I am finishing my metal brake, it is almost done! I did the firewall (still needs beads) and the panels to the side of the firewall, it has really got me motivated. It looks like you have all...

    Wish List!

Windows for both doors that would eliminate the vent windows. New tracks would also be needed. I have only found one place that has done this and wanted 5700 bucks to do it for others.

65 mod project build (ordered parts)

I have made some progress but I feel like I have been in a rut for the last two days, all I have been able to do is weld, weld, and weld. I am still working on smoothing out those pieces for the back of my frame and I welded up some peices to allow for an exhaust through the seat pan area. I...

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

The crossmember was never the problem, at least not for me. My suspension will hit it if I run it out the back. Not to mention the relative ease of running it out the sides when compared to running it past the crossmember.

65 mod project build (ordered parts)

I am rolling beads after I bend it. I am actually going to put a transmission hump in it afterwards so I will be bending one big rectangular sheet including the driveshaft tunnel and the floor pans all in one. I will then piece in the firewall and when I get a transmission I will form the hump...

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

I use poster board to mock up all small parts first too. I am confused by the one in the bottom picture with all the lines on it though. Are you going to bead roll all those lines? Looks like a ton of work to roll that out.

A rubber mallet and two 200+ pound guys should be able to massage it all into the shape I desire.

    My 1970 Mustang project - Frame/Floorpan/Subframes.

I read IRS and got all excited (Independent Rear Suspension). Sometimes redoing work does get discouraging but I bet you are happy now that you redid it. I hope you get back to it fast, I enjoy reading this post.

65 mod project build (ordered parts)

I wouldn't have dug so deep into this project if I didn't enjoy fab work. I'm pretty excited, I went to this shop across the street from my house today. It is really a one man shop and he is really nice. I told him about my project a couple weeks ago and he got all excited. He helps me in...

65 mod project build (ordered parts)

Well, I made a little progress in the last couple of days. I have been tied up in school work until now but it is finally finals week so instead of studying I have been working on my car. I ended up putting holes in the wrong place (oops) I guess I just made some more work for myself. Here...

    Trunk Battery- Starter Ground Issue

Put a lock washer under the bolt at both connections. They scrape enough paint off to provide a proper ground.

    69 coupe quarter grille

Alright, I was confused because mine is a 65 and i was thinking of the 65-66 side scoops.

    69 coupe quarter grille

We must be thinking of something different because every quarter scoop I have seen is forward facing and will drive air into your car, not exhaust the interior air. I would still like to see pictures.

Roots type blower on a small block?

Dang, that BDS intake is really expensive. Aren't there plates out there to adapt other small block intakes to the 351w? It seems to me like it may be far more inexpensive to go that route than spend over $1000 on a specially made blower intake. You could also go with a non-roots type blower...

    69 coupe quarter grille

I am still confused as to where you are directing the air from the "functional vents". Are you using it to cool your rear brakes? Try posting the pictures again so we can get a better idea, this is interesting. I have thought about doing this to cool the rear brakes on my 65 but I really have...
