the higher idle when a car is cold is from the cars computer. it waits for the o2 sensors to heat up before switching itself from closed to open loop. the difference between the two idles is the load. neutral imposes no load while in drive there is a load dropping the engines rpm's down. if...
its would be easier for the tuner if you had the adjustable regulator. i would say to get the regulator. thr t-rex and bigger injectors though seem overboard for your combo unless you plan to step up the boost or swap for a bigger s/c. other than the afpr i would recommend a wide band for your car
i thought it was a 3.8???::shrug:
dont reuse the stock bolts. they stretch when they are torqued and thats why you need new ones. so dont listen to the parts store guy
no, the trick flow upper will never fit the stock lower. port work on both of those wont be worth it.the stock intake is not very good for performance even if it were ported. ported stock heads is ok. your better off with saving for an aftermarket intake and a 65-70mm throttle body. but you...
you wont need the o rings. check the specs on those springs. you will need one with atleast .550 lift. with 1.7 rockers that stage one cam will be about .530 intake lift and .541 exhaust lift. and i would replace the lifters at the same time too
Well double check and make sure all the crazy bolts are in their right spots. i never liked all the different length bolts ford uses. put a bead of rtv on the backing plate stick the gasket to that let it sit and become tacky and put a bead around the water pump. let both beads sit for a couple...
drive and find out if the mil even turns on before investing more money into the exhaust. if it does light up then you might want to consider options to keep it off.
Hey CmanT1914 i am from killeen too!!! if you plan to get rid of the slp's would you sell them and how much? lookin at your avatar are you the vert with the steeda logo work on W.S. Young?
you run into the issue of noise and not being able to pass an inspection again. o/r pipes and those resonators are always gonna be loud. that combo would probably be louder than the o/r h-pipe. most guys i know of with the x-pipes on their cars are louder than the ones with o/r h pipes.
the press isnt really an issue. there is a trick to getting around that. you can sand the pinion shaft where the bearing slides on with emery paper or sandpaper until it slides on and off. nice trick for those who need to take apart the diff to re-shim and check everything who dont have a...
most 4v's i have helped dyno with cai, long tubes, o/r mid pipes, cat back, and some kind of tune, SCT or diablo averaged 315-330rwhp. all you need are the basic bolt ons.
without proper tools i doubt that the gears are set right. new gears shouldnt be any different than the stock ones as far as noise is concerned. dumped flows dont help any either. they can drown out the gear whine from the rear end as gear whine is a definite sign that the gears were set wrong...
i did that for a while on my 01. i pulled the mufflers and ran the exhaust up to the stock h-pipe. shouldn't hurt. it will be louder and if it is an o/r x pipe then extremely loud. wont mess up the car all the sensors are up front within the first part of the exhaust. as for your car the dumps...
find a car with the traction control if you really want that option. it cant be installed unless from the factory. if it where able to be installed it would be very very expensive. the system Ford uses is actually a very good one.
they fit. they are sold in a kit that has instructions. there is a wire in the dash that has to be spliced for the turn signals to work. have known people to do the swap. the wiring is the part that makes the conversion take a while. i think one of the guys i talked to took 4hrs to finish. they...
if you want a blown motor go with the cobra. yeah the mach has a 4v but it is the all aluminum one. it has weak powdered rods and pathetic pistons that cant take much boost. the 03 cobras have iron blocks, forged manley rods and forged pistons. yeah you could get it and get a little better hp...
research the pullies before doing so. its gonna cost some money b/c you need more than a pulley. it will also need a tune. havent messed with many lightnings yet. only supercharged 03/04 cobras. maybe not best to up the boost. get him some nice bolt ons. the lightnings can take some extra boost...
