    Engine timing after replacing heads

My Expedition most likely has a bent intake valve (zero compresion on #5 and air comes out the intake on a leak down test). I am ready to remove the head but I had a question about the timing. I am taking the driver side head in to a machine shop so they can do the valve work for me. I assume...

    A/C compressor replacement questions

That part is listed as fitting my car. Are you saying I would have to cut out the part of the line with the Orifice tube and install that piece ?

    A/C compressor replacement questions

Hmmm ... this may be my issue. Last summer my AC clutch went out and I replaced that. The bearings and field coil were burned up badly. This time around the AC clutch pully seems to spin freely while the AC is off. But the compressor is frozen and wont spin when the clutch engages. From...

    A/C compressor replacement questions

Well last night my A/C compressor went up in a massive cloud of black smoke and shreded my belt. I was able to put on an old belt and get her home with the A/C off. I was looking at replacement parts and saw that the parts stores recommend replacing the Orifice tube and the Accumulator as...

Reliability of Vortech kits for daily driver

I searched and found a few older posts about buying ebay kits for a diy Intercooler. Is that still the best/cheapest way of doing it ?

Reliability of Vortech kits for daily driver

I was considering getting a Mongoose Vortech kit for my car. I live in Phoenix and it will be 110 degrees + most of the summer. I drive about 35 miles each way to work (highway) and already have 72k miles on my car. Any thoughts on reliability for this? I dont plan on taking the car to...

Any DM SpeedCal Experts? Center Console Stolen, Speedo Not Working

The red wire is the power wire for your speedcal. Is should connect to the positive power wire for your lighter. Even if they took your center console the wire harness should still be there for your lighter (Hopefully they didnt cut it). The speed cal should have been connected to the...

Anyone have ladybugs in their house???

I dont get lady bugs, but I get Crickets. Very annoying crickets... that chirp all night. I literally get several dozen on my garage door during the summer if I dont spray weekly. They always manage to sneak in the house one way or another.

    Bad Starter ??

It does have coil packs and I was getting good voltage at each of the plugs. I was thinking it was fuel related cause the car would run when I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle. I could hear the fuel pump whine when cranking the car but it could have been clogged or running low pressure...

    Bad Starter ??

Ok, so my wifes Mitsubishi Galant has been out of commission for about a month. I checked the timing belt, spark etc. The engine would crank but the car wouldnt start. Saturday I sprayed starter fluid in the throttle while it was cranking and it started right up. I have been fooling with...

Wifes car wont start. lots of oil in the spark plug wells

I'm going to change the valve cover gasket this weekend and test for spark this weekend. There is still a bunch of oil in all the wells so i want to get that cleaned up first. Hopefully the coil packs arent dead. It uses two and they run about a hundred a piece.

Wifes car wont start. lots of oil in the spark plug wells

The car does have coil packs and I wiped them off pretty good. The inside of the boots were completely filled with oil so it is possible they could have gotten shorted out. I will test them for spark tonight and see.

Wifes car wont start. lots of oil in the spark plug wells

My wifes Mitsubishi Galant threw a code for the TPS a couple weeks ago. A few days later it wouldnt start at all. I replaced the TPS and the car still wont start. I pulled the plugs yesterday and found alot of oil in all the spark plug wells. If I try to start the car, it stumbles like...

Replaced A/C clutch, but it wont engage

The field coil for the clutch was burnt to a crisp, so I could see it blowing a fuse. I checked the fuse in the kick panel labeled in the manual as being for the AC Clutch and the Defroster. It looked fine. Any others I should check? Wiring looked ok as well.

Replaced A/C clutch, but it wont engage

I tested the current at the clutch and had no power. I jumped the clutch by connecting it directly to the battery and it started working. I also used a paperclip to jump the switch on the evaporator, that didnt do anything either. whet else am I missing?

Replaced A/C clutch, but it wont engage

I did. I matched the air gap from the stock clutch. I tried 3 other spacers just incase, but no luck.

Replaced A/C clutch, but it wont engage

I just replaced my AC clutch as the Bearings were toast and the coil was burnt up, but the clutch does not engage when I turn on the A/C. The fuse looks good. Any Ideas. I want to try jumping the compressor. Does it matter which terminals I connect the pos and negative to ?

    Bad AC Compressor ?

I think i'll go with the suggestion from JSTREET0204 and see if the compressor spins with the clutch removed. If it wont spin i'll buy the compressor too.
