    Well you can blaim your driving for the 2.5 60", but your top speed is low also and I doubt that it's due to pilot error. Get it tuned before you damage the motor!

    The injector idea sounds like a wild guess. If it were leaking fuel then I would expect a black puff of smoke once it starts. No? :shrug: My wild guess is ignition timing:D. I'd give the folks that worked on the motor a call, see what they say. ...good luck.

    That tensioner is supposed to be sprung pretty tight. I had to use a 1/2" drive breaker bar to install the belt on my car. If you can move it easily by hand then I'd have to say the tensioner is weak and needs to be replaced. Another idea, next time you have the belt off have a close look at...

    A typical tire shop does jobs like this all the time, it'll take them like 15 minutes and it will be cheap, like $20. :shrug:

    You can get a nice early ZR1 for $20k if you are patient. I like the 5.7L, 32v, DOHC motor. Those suckers sing! But the ride is rough, the drive train is noisy, the cockpit is cramped, the factory stereos don't work, the headlights are destined for failure, etc.....it's a GM in other words :D

    Rebuilding a cylinder head requires expertese and special equipment so I doubt it's a DIY project for the average guy. I'm pretty sure that there are precise tollerances between the valve stem and valve guide, and that the valve seats are cut into the head and are not a replacement part...
