    Transporting a car question

Hello everyone - I just bought a 1971 Mach 1 and am having it transported across the US, probably on an open trailer. My question is should I put a car cover on it? Or would that make matters worse - trapping moisture and things? I was thinking a cover may avoid any possible road rash from a...

Tensioner pulley dieing! Have some questions...

My tensioner pulley is making all kinds of rattling and metallic clicking noises and I am pretty certain it is dieing. I've never changed one of these before, how do you release the tensioner arm? Is a special tool needed? Once the tensioner arm is loose do you just unbolt the pulley, and are...

    1st time at the track

The MPH looks a little low but the wheel hop and the 1-2 shift will hurt your results a ton. With a Cold Air Intake and tune your results will improve dramatically. But traction is necessary if you want good results. As they say "It's no good unless you can put the power to the pavement."

Redfire GT: Wow, 111 MPH is impressive. What altitude are you at?

    Predator tune question

I tried to put in the 93 octane tune today but the cursor won't allow the cursor to grab the right heading. Therefore, I went to the Global Timing heading and added 2 degrees to that field. it had been set at 0 and looked like it could be set between -10 to +10. I have 3 questions: 1. Did...

    Going to the dyno tomorrow

Redfire 05: Thanks for the info. Yea, I saw where the pipes pinched down near the catalytic converters. Surprised the h-pipe is no help above 3000 rpm’s though. Maybe they help below 3000 rpm’s? Anyway, I think the shorty’s with an OR X pipe will be the way I go. Did you notice any...

    Went to the track today

Ski: Thanks for the tire recommendations, and I thought the LCA's helped with traction and wheel hop. I'm glad you clarified that I was toying with getting some, but I have noticed no wheel hop. DarkFireGT: what suspension mod's are you doing?

    Went to the track today

Traction/tires Brown spit8: Yea the DR's would be nice but this is my daily driver and Michigan is a pretty inclimate environment 4+ months out of the year. I'm thinking a good set of all seasons? Any recommendations on a tire upgrade? I could probably go with Blizzaks for January thru March...

    Going to the dyno tomorrow

Next steps No on the coil packs, huh? Others on the board seem to like them and say they free-up horsepower. i don't know. My big moves will be on the heads and cams. I don't want to go the F/I route, definitely want to keep it NA. i was under the car checking out the exhaust (doing an...

    Went to the track today

Well, it could've been a lot better all the way around. I wet to the dyno earlier in the morning (Alternative Auto) and netted a 292 rwhp and 307 rwtq on a Dynojet (see sig) and figured that would get low 13's. Not even close. I made 3 runs and they were all 13.8's with MPH at the quarter of...

    Going to the dyno tomorrow

Dyno results OK, made 292 RWHP at 6100 rpm's and 307 RWTQ at 4500 rpm's. So right about where it probably should be. I'm think about adding new coil packs (Accel) and an OR/x pipe with a 93 octane tune. That would hopefully get me over 300 RWHP. Went to the track after the dyno session...

    Going to the dyno tomorrow

Mod's are in the sig for the 2006 GT. The tune is a 91 octane. Will a 93 octane make a difference? I'm hoping for about 290 rwhp on a Dynojet.

    Squealing Roush UDP's. Solutions?

Pulley seems to be failing... I got the 2006 home and I noticed a slight metallic clicking and clattering coming from under the hood. After popping the hood the noise seemed much louder and sounded like the ball bearings were coming loose in one of the pulleys and clattering around. I think the...

    Squealing Roush UDP's. Solutions?

Squealing UDP's The belt may have 25,000 miles on it so that may be the problem. I will check it. The prior owner sprayed something on the pulleys to eliminate the noise. I'll check the idler pulleys also. Thanks, I'll let you know!

    Squealing Roush UDP's. Solutions?

I just purchased a white 2006 GT, and am going to go pick it up this weekend. Only problem is that the UDP,s (Roush) squeal on start up. Have any of you experienced this and is there a common root of the problem? Thanks in advance for any help, and I am excited about joining the S-197 community!

    Parking brake & brake trouble

Long ago I performed the 9'" Versailles rear end swap and put on the rear disc brakes, too. Was never able to get the parking brake to work again and it fried the worm gear in the calipers that adjusted the pads, basically from not being used. My question is whether or not there is a good rear...

New 3v Cylinder Head porting service: need volunteer for dyno testing!

Have volunteers Got a pretty good list of volunteers. Tentatively have the right person. We are aiming to start testing soon. I'm considering having more than one vehicle tested.
