    5.0 out of Explorers

I'll keep you in mind if I don't end up going with the Cobra long block.

    5.0 out of Explorers

I did hear that Explorers switched to P heads later but I belive the early 5.0's had GT40s on them. I'll need to look at the casting and see.

    Oil Pans.

Adding an oil cooler is another way to add more oil without having to swap pans.

    5.0 out of Explorers

I don't planning on using the EFI on it, although now you mention it, I wonder how hard it'll be... So I guess it's safe to assume that pretty much any 5.0's will fit in the classics?

    5.0 out of Explorers

Will 5.0's out of explorers fit into a 65 Mustang? I started doing engine search at junk yards around here and it looks like they start from $660 and up with compression readings of 130psi and up.

    5.0 engine from 95 GT

Here are couple more questions I forgot to ask... Don't the newer 5.0s user a lighter damper? I currently have a 3 hold crank pulley. Also, I found out that the 95 is actually a Cobra. Will it make a much of difference in the value of the long block?

    Master Cylinder Upgrade?

The SSBC front disc brake kit I got for the 65 came with a 67 Mustang dual master cylinder so maybe it'll work for you. As for the vacuum booster, it won't clear with the mentioned MC because the shock towers will get in the way.

Is this a good price for GT-40 heads

Now, did any stock 5.0's come with GT-40 heads (alu. or iron) from the factory? If so, what years and what cars?

Is this a good price for GT-40 heads

Will the "Y" head be good enough for 300HP at the crank? Any higher? $850 is the "Buy Now" price. I saw another pair listed for $750 but it wasn't the "Buy Now" price nor did it meet the reserve.

Going from 5 bolt to 6 bolt bell housing

I'm looking into getting a newer engine to replace my 289 with a c4. To my understanding, the newer engines need 6 bolt bellhousing. I did some seaching on eBayMotors and it seems like there are several different styles of 6 bolt bell housings. Any one here know (and/or have one for sale)...

If the deal happens, I'll most likely end up with the bare long block.

    5.0 engine from 95 GT

Thanks for the info, 66P51GT. Now how much should I offer for the engine?

    5.0 engine from 95 GT

It looks like the search function is missing so I'll just make a post. As you know from my past posts, I had some oil pressure issues and now am looking for a replacement motor. The current motor has a 289 block that came from a 64 Fairlane (according to the casting ID) mated to a C4 auto...

Might start a war here... but T56 vs Richmond 6 speed

I agree with gp001 here. From all the articles I've read about EFI vs Carb, they pretty much made same peak power, but EFI did had better average power acress the powerband.

WTF? No oil pressure and the engine still runs?

I got a new oil pump and pick up and installed them. The oil pump shaft is sitted well and I hand cranked the engine to make sure it was spinning. Fostang: While it's still not registering any pressure at the gauge, there is flow of oil as the oil gushes out then I lossen the oil filter and...
