    5.0 out of Explorers

Will 5.0's out of explorers fit into a 65 Mustang? I started doing engine search at junk yards around here and it looks like they start from $660 and up with compression readings of 130psi and up.

Going from 5 bolt to 6 bolt bell housing

I'm looking into getting a newer engine to replace my 289 with a c4. To my understanding, the newer engines need 6 bolt bellhousing. I did some seaching on eBayMotors and it seems like there are several different styles of 6 bolt bell housings. Any one here know (and/or have one for sale)...

    5.0 engine from 95 GT

It looks like the search function is missing so I'll just make a post. As you know from my past posts, I had some oil pressure issues and now am looking for a replacement motor. The current motor has a 289 block that came from a 64 Fairlane (according to the casting ID) mated to a C4 auto...

WTF? No oil pressure and the engine still runs?

Just when I thought the end was near... Last night, the Haneline oil pressure gauge that normally reads 20psi of oil stopped registering any pressure. I figured since I installed the sender a couple of days ago maybe it was the sender that was bad, esp since I didn't hear anything funny from...

Picture of the Haneline Instrument panel set

From left to right: Volts, Fuel, MPH, RPM, Temp, Oil I haven't installed the trim pieces yet as I need to change the speedo cable but it's nice to have a full get of gauges instead of the dummy lights. Install itself wasn’t that difficult but since the stock nor the Haneline instrument...

    Headlight relay mod without splicing

If you are looking for an easy no splicing way to do the headlight relay mod, get the A1C Universal H4 Upgrade Harness Kit, part #: 50.9103. The directions are quite bad but the installation itself is quite easy. The kit comes with two relays (one for the high beam and the other for the...

    Long time no post

It's been quite hectic around here but here's a quick post on the progress of my project Stang for those who read my posts in the past. I bought a universal lock and tumbler and installed it without a hitch. For the aftermarket gauge panel, I decided to go with the Haneline panel with the...

Getting rid of the heater core and blower

Have anyone tried getting rid of their heater core and blower and using an electric heater for defroster functions? If possible, I'm thinking about doing something like that since it seems like it will be much eaiser to maintain and also would get rid of a lot of stuff under the dash...

Confessions of a former import owner: Why I decided to get a classic Mustang

The infamous "1967 Shelby gt500 VS 1999 skyline gt-r r34 v-spec" at http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=481690 inspired me to post this thread. Past high performance cars I owned includes 1991 Stealth Twin Turbo (a rebadged 3000GT VR4) and a 1990 Laser Turbo (one of the early DSMs)...

    4 Lug Wheels on a 65 V8 Stang

I was checking out SSBC site at http://www.ssbrakes.com for disc brake upgrade ideas. According to their site, I-6 Stangs came with 4 lug wheels while V-8s came with 5 lug wheels. My 65 Stang has a V-8 with 4 lug wheels. Does this means that my Stang started out with an I-6 with a V-8 swap...

Mystery Engine In My 65 Stang

Hello, this is my question here! I bought a 65 Mustang a couple of weeks ago from a dealer. The does not know the history of this vehicle. As far as I know, VIN shows that it came with a 289 with 2bbl. The intake manifold has 289 stamped on it. When I took the valve covers off to replace...
