    The place on the connecting rod that is underneath the bearing is a bronze color. What caused this and does it need replaced???

    I know you are not supposed to do this, but I removed the damper from my 5.0 yesterday by hitting it with a RUBBER hammer. There is no dents or scratches on it. Do you think that it is damaged and should be replaced or is it fine and I should reuse it???

    I have an 84 mustang L with a carburated 2.3L. I am taking all engine related stuff out of it and the whole driveline and trying to sell it or get rid of it. It has an auto transmission. Transmission, rearend, and driveshaft are in excellent condition. The motor runs OK but the fourth cylinder...
