    Newer 302 Boss?

Most 347 stroker kits use use .03" over pistons. So you should be good there, assuming the block is good and the bore is fresh. Unless you are absolutely sure about what you have, as far as the block is concerned, take it to a machine shop and have it checked out! You don't want to start an...

    Newer 302 Boss?

One of the biggest obstacles in the early Mustangs is space! You can do a "FE" big block engine swap, and that would be cool. I can tell you from experience that those engines are a tight fit. I would recommend building a 347 stroker motor out of your existing 302. A well built 347 can be a...

    Numbers Matching

Ask yourself what you want the car to be. What is your vision for the car? Then go build that car. There are more than enough original cars in museums. These cars have many short comings by todays standards such as handling, brakes, safety, comfort, etc... As nice as it is, I see a car like...

Help With An Upcoming 1970 Fastback Project

I am personally not a fan of modern interiors in classics. After seeing this done several times for the past few decades. It may look cool now but will look horribly dated in a few short years. The original "looking" interior will always look right. I would keep the look but update all the...

    Drivetrain Tremec 5 Speed

I used Modern Driveline for my C4 to tremec conversion, could not be happier! Mine is a TKO 600 behind a 408, they hooked me up with everyting. I highly recommend going to a 5 speed it is the best upgrade I have done. I am currently using a cable clutch. Have not had any problems with it, but I...

    408W Fuel System

I am using a Holley "Blue" pump (very loud), 1/2" aluminum lines for supply and return. No supply issues, just noisy withn this pump.

Best Place to get a 408 Kit

Coast High here too. I also recommend buying a longblock aswell. assembly is not as fun as one might think.

    351w stroker w/ edelbrock 400Hp kit

My 408 required no "xtra machine work". The 392 is only cheaper if you already have the 302 pistons and 351 rods. If you are buying a complete stroker kit, the 392 kit is no cheaper than a 408 kit. The 408 kit is more common than the 392 kit, mostly for the reason I mentioned earlier. It...

    351w stroker w/ edelbrock 400Hp kit

Go with the 408. You are building a stroker for extra cubes, so why leave 15 cubic inches on the table? The Edelbrock kit is fine for 351 c.i. but not enough for a 408. Do yourself a favor and spend some time on (sbf tech dot com) before you buy anything.

    351W Stroker Oil Pan

I used a Moroso. it looks a lot like the Canton pictured above. Using the Moroso pan did not allow me to use the RMP 1/2" drop motor mounts though.

    opine on this kit

I second the vote for ford strokers! Woody has been very helpful.

331 Stroker from Start to finish.

I second this. You can't go wrong with Ford Strokers short block and a Jay Allen top end!

    tko500 or tko600

What is your end goal for the rest of your drive train? If you are going to build big power then I'd go with the 600, if you are going to run a warmed up 302 (or anything under 350 hp) a T5 would be fine. I think that the 600 has a much better gear spread for a performance trans. final drive...

    Need help picking a clutch

Car is a '91 GT, 306, T5, GT40 heads, "E" cam, Edelbrack intake. I have no idea what is currently in there, but it is toast. We are leaning toward a King Cobra kit, is there anything better in the same price range? This is a street car that does get some abuse, but no real track use. Looking for...

I would have to second the stroked 351 route. As far as builders I highly recommend fordstrokers dot com.

    AFR 165

Before you buy anything go to sbf tech.com (remove the space between sbf & tech) and do more research. Not that you are going down a bad path, but there are better paths to take. In my opinion you should definately talk to Jay Allen for a cam and head combo. It is always cheaper to do it right...

    302 to 351 conversion question

Get ahold of Jay Allen @ Camshaft Innovations. If you go to Jay you will not be disapointed with your engine. One word of caution: stepping up to a 408 is essentially like moving up to a big block, in that it will need to breathe and be cooled like a big block. So plan on upgrading fuel...
