At WOT, the vacuum is virtually zero. The downshift/detent/WOT switch handles that. The modulator controls the partial throttle opening pressures. Turning it OUT simulates LOWER vacuum causing HIGHER 1-2, 2-3 shifts under PARTIAL throttle conditions. Ever notice on a slipping tranny how it...

Adjusting it OUT increases the pressures.

    351C and a T5 questions

The 68's came with a 428;so it should fit right in. The 351C will fit the 5.0 bellhousing, so that should be a bolt in, too.

Transmission and bolt patterns on '66 I6

I6 bell is smaller. The 250 will bolt to either bell. The C4 is plenty strong for a V8 as is the axle unless you're planning on big mods.

Can I make the EEC power only one cylinder?

Actually, cylinders 1&4 are fired off pin 58 and 2&3 are fired off pin 59. They are triggered through the ECU by the distributor PIP in earlier cars and CPS in distributorless cars.

Can I make the EEC power only one cylinder?

The V8 EEC's have separate pins for each injector. How they would react without all their necessary inputs would be the question.

    Injector/MAF question

Unless that TB is from a Mustang, it's the same size as the standard 2.3 TB, 50mm. Bigger injectors will work great for you... as soon as you start turning your 2.3 about 6500-7000 rpm.

I don't remember you saying that you checked the timing. If you did, I apologize for the repetition, but if you didn't, make sure you set it with the SPOUT jumper REMOVED, and reinstall it when done. Sounds like you're gonna need some tranny work. I like my 2.3 with the T5.

    WHERE IS the blend door??

The door infront of the pass. seat is the outside/recirculate door. Your lack of heat is probably due to low coolant level.

Just another idea... Is the 'SPOUT' jumper installed or is it missing? It's a little 1/2"x3/4" plug (black or gray) that goes into a holder in the ignition wiring going to the TFI module on the distributor. If it's missing, the computer won't know to adjust the timing. On the modulator...

    inner fender and vin

The Number on the inner fender is the ONLY official number for liscensing and registration. The door tag IS NOT valid for that purpose. The fore-mentioned as paraphrased from the Ford Shop Manual. Since the inner fender is an integral part of the framework of the car, you would need the...

While us more 'senior' guys are so used to the ease and simplicity of the C4 (and being able to rebuild it), keep in mind that you probably have 3.73 gears in the back end and with the C4, you lose your overdrive. Think about what you're going to be using the car for and if you can live with...

    Torque Convertor install question

There are 3 items that need to engage on a torque converter. #1 is the input shaft into the very center. #2 is the external splines off the front pump to the internal converter splines. #3 are the 2 'flats' (do they still use them?) on the external converter tube into the cooresponding flats...

    Brake line Question

I believe it also restricts the leaking line so you don't lose ALL your fluid. It's 'official' name is the Brake Pressure Differential Warning Valve. It is supposedly non-serviceable (for safety sake), but it IS needed in brake systems with split master cylinders. On disc/drum setups, it is...

carb problem or should I look elsewhere

Sounds like your A/F mixture is set too rich and the plugs are fouling out. When you restart it, you probably step on the gas and it revs right up. Have someone check if black smoke comes out when you do that.

Fuel Pump and Electrical Guru question Please Help!

Both my Mustangs had problems with disintegrating connectors on the fuel pump itself, one twice. Of course, you have to drop the tank to check it. You can also disconnect the 4 pin connector at the rear of the tank by the rear bumper which goes to the sending unit and the fuel pump. I believe...
