Roll Bar rear down strut ideas?

Before I'd mess with the cage, I'd check with NHRA's rule book and make sure what you're thinking of doing is acceptable with them. No sense in going through all the trouble if the inadequate cage gets you kicked off the track.

    Most difficult

Good ones are getting harder to find. However, there is someone already in the works of reproducing them.

    Most difficult

Man you'd be surprised at what is available to day compared to 10-15 years ago. The aftermarket is listening..... we just need to yell LOUDER! :D

302 to 5.0 HO EFI Swap Advice Needed

Ok Geek, you're right there. There are only 4 ways to fire a 90* V8 4 stroke engine...(that I know of) and that doesn't count running it backwards, as some SB Chevys were designed to do for racing. I figured that most all V8s were the same firing order, obvoiusly numbered differently. The hp...

302 Belts and Pulleys - How Many Do I Need?

Right now your setup is actually design #2. You would need a powersteering pump and that is where you'd get your ability to tighten the crank-waterpump belt. If you're shootin for #3 then you're gonna be in for a long haul to find the correct pulleys. Although it was an option, very few cars...

302 to 5.0 HO EFI Swap Advice Needed

You got me on that one. Nothing I have is computer controlled. I've done this many-a-time with carbed engines. Running a 351W cam in the 302 in my Ranchero. So that's a good question, if the computer will freak out or not. Otherwise, yes, use the firing order that comes with the cam. There...

302 to 5.0 HO EFI Swap Advice Needed

Pretty much yes. Roller cams started appearing in 302s around 1986. To run a roller cam in your D5 block, you'll have to go with a retrofit roller cam kit utilizing special roller lifter that do not require the factory 302 lifter retainer 'spider' that bolts to the lifter valley. Yes. The...

    Help With Tachometer

Somebody has got to have a better diagram out there. I'm looking in my 1982 Haynes manual and my 1983 Clymer manual which have crude diagrams that show paths but are missing alot of the definitions. It's possible that your wire may have faded or bleached their color a little. Or these manuals...

302 Belts and Pulleys - How Many Do I Need?

Actually alot of Fords in the 70s ran dual alternator belts. Most prodominantly the FE powered Trucks and Commercial Cabs. I forgot about the Inline 4s, and I do vaugely remember seeing a few with dual belts. Weird. So in those years it's easy to think that there would be 2 alternator belts...

302 Belts and Pulleys - How Many Do I Need?

Nice.. I like it! Think I'm gonna use that one for awhile. You have the right lower pulley and waterpump pulley. The waterpump codes out for a '77 Truck but should be just the same. Look at the part numbers on your harmonic balancer. If the part number doesn't have 'ZE' in the 3rd & 4th...

    302/347 crank-- winter project

Also wanted to add- If you are serious about going 347ci might I suggest using a 5.315 rod rather than the mainstream 5.400 rod. The reason for this is to relocate the wristpin out of the middle of the oil ring lands. Granted companies claim their 'oil ring supports' remedy the oil ring...

    302/347 crank-- winter project

C8AM-6015-B C8 -- 1968 A -- Ford (all car lines) M -- Performance Operations, later known as SVO Service Parts 6015 -- Basic part number for cyl block B -- Design Change Designation This is the same casting # I have on my Mexican 302 and is the most typical number I see. There is a...

    302/347 crank-- winter project

All sounds good but I'm not sure how far you can really take a factory casting as far as overboring. I know aftermarket blocks can go much further. I've only had a couple .060 blocks that I've run, and they did run a little hotter. I fear with your compression and power output expectations heat...
