No slack in clutch cable after FWA/quadrant install

After looking at the picture you attached up top, I can understand how a thread could have broken. I had a different machinist back then (when those were made) and the threads had a different pitch than they do now. Sometimes machinists get a bad batch of aluminum stock that tends to be more...

No slack in clutch cable after FWA/quadrant install

Well Trent, I'm not sure if you had a Fiore fwa or not but regardless, if you want one free of charge to use, I'll send it to you. However, the only request would be that you actually use it on your car. I'd like to see the Micro-Click on every 5/6 speed Mustang in America. Did it look like...

No slack in clutch cable after FWA/quadrant install

Trent, I'm just curious how you had to "ruin it to put it on". What happened in the installation? I'm also confused as to what part did you have to force on with a pair of channel locks? What kind of firewall adjuster did you end up going with? I hate that it didn't go so well. Thanks, Joe

No slack in clutch cable after FWA/quadrant install

Stangbear427, You're right. My bad, however I was not trashing any companies products. I've never done it and never will. My point was that Trent could have complained to the company he bought the quadrant from and they would have worked it out for him. I've given away quite a bit of...

No slack in clutch cable after FWA/quadrant install

Why would you go and buy a triple hook quadrant? You can only use two of those hooks and with a Fox body car, you can only use the middle hook. If you are using the Micro-Click adjuster from Astro, there is no reason why your cable should be tight. I do have a quadrant that has a revised hook...

    FWA not holding adjustment

The fwa is designed so that it will not turn when it "clicks" into the detent every 90 degrees of turn. This is the first I have heard of this problem. I don't think a cable would stretch in such a short period of time so I'm not sure what the problem could be. As long as the fwa is not...

I'm really pissed off about these UPR clutch cables

I understand what you are saying. I've had cables snap in the past too. I do know that companies will find other manufacturers of cables if they have problems with them...they don't usually keep selling crap, especially if they have a name like Steeda or UPR. On the other side of the coin...

I'm really pissed off about these UPR clutch cables

I come to this forum to answer questions when I can and learn from others. I don't need to be talked to like you think you're a cable manufacturer. I was not being a smart ass as you say. I have quite a bit of experience in this industry and I don't talk out of my ass. How many cable...

I'm really pissed off about these UPR clutch cables

Yeah, spend $100 on a new one and have it snap too. Don't fix a problem by replacing parts...diagnose first then replace.

Getting Upper and Lower Control Arms

I don't understand why nobody seems to know about Metco Motorsports. They make the highest quality rear suspension components in the aftermarket...hands down. I've used their lowers for years and would never use another brand. I will say that Global West makes good lowers as well but they are...

I'm really pissed off about these UPR clutch cables

What I have found is that if the quadrant is not centered with the cable, the cable will ride along the sharp edges of the quadrant hooks and eventually wear through each individual cable wire until it snaps. As far as adjustable cables, I have used one for years with a heavy duty clutch and...

Where to get fog light switch

I broke my fog light switch when working on the center console. Other than the dealership, anyone know where I can get one cheap or does anyone have one laying around? Thanks, Joe

    Need help identifying tb

Looks like a polished stock cast throttle body to me. It is definitely not billet so it wouldn't be an Accufab. Pro. Products has a shinier polish job than that so my guess is someone polished their stock unit.

Good to hear things worked out for you...except the back pain. Fortunately no one was hurt in my accident...just my billfold. Oh well, like my old boss used to say, "It's only money; I'll make more tomorrow."

Got my car fixed! Pics inside

Well at first I was going to sell it to my mechanic for 2K. That money with the settlement would have given me $7500. In retrospect, I should've taken the money and run but I'm famous for reversing my decisions. Obviously I have more money in the car than what it is worth; but if I had a dime...

Got my car fixed! Pics inside

Some of you remember when I totalled my car. I bought it back from the insurance company because I wouldn't have enough money to buy a newer Mustang. Sent it over to a local body shop to get a new quarter, trunk, spoiler and bumper. While I was at it I bought new Cobra R's with 27540ZR17...
