    What's this worth? My '86..

I could go get all the EFI crap from a Mark VII at the Pull-a-part for next to nothing, but I would miss the extra top-end that the four-barrel gives. I'm not sure which would be more valuable, but I guess I prefer the carb. 4k#Fe

    What's this worth? My '86..

Motor and body are from different homes. Motor has 108k, but has all new gaskets and no leaks. The chassis has 106 or so. Roller cam block from a later model. Yeah, motor is 302. The distributor is an aftermarket D.U.I. type HEI coil-in-cap deal. Beats all the ugly Duraspark crap, no...

    What's this worth? My '86..

I'm considering selling, but not sure what to ask for my car. It's a 1986 former V6 with a 1991 E7-headed 5.0 and a Turbo Coupe T5. Runs great, drives great, new frontend, five-lugs with SN95 spindles, Performer intake, Carter/Edelbrock 625. Factory-style exhaust, but a little louder since I...

Finally got the new wheels on!

I raped my wheels with two good tires for $150 off Ebay. The split-fives aren't very popular on the SN95s but they look balls-beautiful on 5-lug Foxes.

Finally got the new wheels on!

I think the stance is really nice with the crappy six-cylinder front springs and the sagging rears. That said, I'd like to make this thing handle a little better as soon as I get the chassis de-floppified, and it is really, really floppy. 1. can someone recommend springs to keep this...

can a car run if the dist is 180 degrees off?

I think if you were out 180 it would run badly enough that you'd know for certain. Pull the distributor and reset it to be sure.

Converting to Hydraulic clutch on a Fox

There are hydraulc throwout bearings available for the T5 if you don't want the expense or complexity of that setup. You'll have to drop the tranny though. 4k#Fe

Ranger rear axle hubs not snug.. ?

TTT I'd like to hear shoutouts from those multitudes who have SN95 wheels on their five-lug foxes -- do yours have the exhaust-pipe spacers or not? I think I would have heard about this by now if it was a big deal, but it doesn't seem safe to me. 4k#Fe

Any tricks for upper strut bolts?

I'll try that. I wanted to save the dust shields, so I guess I'll have to be careful or something. 4k#Fe

Ranger rear axle hubs not snug.. ?

I got a piece of pipe, but it's not fat enough. I think maybe 2 nested would work? 4k#Fe

Any tricks for upper strut bolts?

Yeah, I'm foiled again. Even the impact wrench just spins the shaft of my front struts as I try to remove the top bolt. The brilliant designers of these things only put a 3/8" flat-side on the top of the strut shaft so my weenie little crescent can't put enough torque on it. Who's got...

    anyone running a 4 cylt5 behind a 5.0??

To a certain extent, yes. All I'm saying is that if you hit a driveline with a very-rapidly spinning flywheel, it gets a lot more than 300 lb-ft from either motor. Intelligent driving is the biggest factor in my book. 4k#Fe

Ranger rear axle hubs not snug.. ?

I've got drums tho' -- just the 9" stockers. Do I need a similar spacer to locate the wheels? I can cut a piece of exhaust pipe from the parts store, I guess.. 4k#Fe

    anyone running a 4 cylt5 behind a 5.0??

Mine's been fine for a year, and I drive hard but I lift to shift. As far as I'm concerned, as long as the tires aren't slicks, the tranny should hold. Why? Because a clutch dump from a 4-banger flywheel at 5k hurts just as bad as one from a V8. Anything that breaks the tires free is the...

Ranger rear axle hubs not snug.. ?

TTT Somebody go look at their 5-lug drum Fox and tell me if it's the same as mine. 4k#Fe

Ranger rear axle hubs not snug.. ?

I did this to my '86 vert today, and noticed as I bolted my wheels on that the little hub things on the Ranger axles are smaller than the hubs up front on the SN95 spindles I've got. Basically the hub doesn't fit snugly into the center hole on the wheel, even though the lug pattern matches...

    vert tops quetions..thxs!

I paid a respectable upholstery/top shop to replace the top on my (now sold) 1995. They did a crappy, wrinkled, half-ass job and I had to take it all apart and fix it myself. It's not hard, just be prepared to measure carefully and try things till it's right. Also, get a staple gun that...
