    Sorting Out 2010 Wheel Rims

I nicked one of my 10-spoke OEM rims. The Ford parts guy assured me my number is AR3Z1007E. The list price is an amazing $742! So I bought a repaired one on Ebay for less than half that. It was perfect, but the color in the pockets is a charcoal gray, not the black that I have. The place that I...

    Laguna Seca Wheel Rims

The Laguna Seca version with the orange/red trimmed wheels would look killer on my white 'vert w/its red interior. The Ford dealer lists only the black trimmed version---is anyone selling the reds?

How do these door panels come off?

Want to replace the speakers, but I don't see any screws---are these door panels easy to take off---and how?

    Bolt-in Speaker replacements?

What are some decent, reasonably priced, bolt-in replacement speakers I can get to replace the tinny sounding stockers in my 2010 'vert? And do I need to stick some kind of dynamat in the doors to stop the vibration?

GT 500 Gurney Flap---Why is it painted black?

I se it painted black on some cars---Why? Is it an homage to Dan or does it imitate an earlier race model?

    Door Speaker Buzz

I'm generally happy w/the sound system in my 2010, but Bob Marley's Rastaman chant---for one---overwhelms the cheesey stock speakers, even when it's not very loud & it even makes the doors vibrate. What's an inexpensive upgrade? And do I need to stick some dynamat or similar sound deadener in...

    Upgrade to HIDS---is it practical

I didn't get the HID option, but now I'm wondering if I can retrofit the factory HIDs. has anyone done so? Are they expensive---is fitting them "plug & play" or complicated?

    Rear Deck Blackout Panels

I bought one of those magnetic cheapo panels. Looks good from 25' away, but is slightly discolored & starting to curl at the edges. I'd like to get a better quality, good fitting stick-on type that retains the pie plate trunk emblem----a thin one,if possible. I notice most of the ads are for the...

Spongy gas pedal inherent with drive by wire---is there a fix?

Saw a new "plug & play" product on TV---supposedly won an award for "best" at SEMA---that just might correct the dead gas pedal feel in our drive-by-wire Mustangs. It's called sprintbooster, and they have a website, but no way to price them or buy them. Anyone using it yet????

Gas Prices Going Crazy---Running on Regular?

What's the problem in running regular---I hear the computer can adjust to it. What's the drop off in power & fuel economy?

Aftermarket Rims & Hub Centric Rings

I have a set of 18" Konig Beyonds mounted with Bridgestone Blizzaks that I run in the winter. Unlike the stock Ford 19s I use the rest of the year, they require a plastic centering shim (72-7050) to take up the slight (2.12mm) gap around the center hole. The Konig center hole is ever so slightly...

    Decklid Blackout Panel Options

I bought the magnetic one---basically because it was real cheap & I wanted to see how it looked. And on a white vert w/a black top it does look pretty good. So now I'm ready for a better quality upgrade. Uncertain as to "pie plate" emblem retention or no pie plate, ribs, flat or honeycomb...

    GT500 Spoiler & "Gurney flap"

I installed the DG Custom GT500 spoiler last week & installation was pretty easy. The hardest part was separating the gooey mastic holding the original teeney-weenie spoiler on to the decklid. I used a metal putty knife--not a credit card as a sticky had suggested. Incidentally, the DG...

    Drone-free muffler promised!!!!

Just got the new 5.0 magazine, and they have an article showing an installation of a new, straight through Magnaflow muffler with some sort of a flapper valve inside that promises a quiet exhaust---WITH NO DRONE---for S197s---until you stand on it, at which point the flapper valve opens. The...

    Aftermarket Rims---caution!

I swapped out my Blizzaks on my 2010 last week. They'd been mounted on Konig Beyonds for winter driving, and I went back to my stock 3-season 19" Ford mags. I noticed that there was a black plastic ring needed with the Konigs to center the hub of the rim. Tire guy told me Ford rims didn't need...

    Aftermarket Painted Parts

Anyone have any experiences to relate about buying aftermarket spoilers or other body parts matched to your paint code? Am thinking about a Shelby spoiler. Source? Quality? BTW--whatever happened to Kaenan?

    Trunk Black-out Panel

I bought the magnetic one, & it's certainly inexpensive & looks good from 10 feet, but the fit isn't too good, so I wondered if anyone's using other better looking/fitting panels that they would recommend?

    Switching to Synthetic-----When???

I'm a staunch advocate of synthetic oil & think it largely responsible for trouble-free high mileage on my modified pushrod '95. But this is the first car I bought w/zero miles---I now have 800 miles on it. So the question is: How many miles should you go on conventional fossil oils to seat...

Any benefits in staggered rim sizing?

As previous posts have stated, I'm in the process of buying 18" rims to mount my winter Blizzaks. The rims I've decided on ordering come in 8.5" and 9.5 widths. The car came w/19" rims & Pirelli pZeros. Is there any benefit in buying two of each width & putting the wider rims in the back &...
