New Stang tops out at 143?

You're doing 135 and a check engine light comes on. You take the Stang down to the local Ford shop and they hook it up to see what's wrong... They now know the car has been redlined and know it's gone 135. Do they care? Maybe, depends on what's broke and who's in charge.

Insurance Rip-off is driving me away!

When I called California Casualty to add my 05 GT I was told, "That car is not allowed." I had been driving the car for two days and wasn't expecting that. I told her that I understood that in California new purchases were covered for 30 days. So I asked if I was currently insured. (Meanwile, I...

Is Windveil Blue a feminine color?

If it has a "GT" badge, I don't care what color it is, it's not girly, man.

What is the best way to launch an Auto Trans

I've had autos on a 69 Cougar Eliminator and a 90 Mustang GT. Loved both cars to death. I always launched them by braking, reving, and stomping. Nothing wrong with that. But I'll tell you this, I'll never, ever buy another auto. It's way too much fun deciding for yourself when it's time to...

    1000 miles

1200 miles in a month, too much, feel like I'm abusing it...not changing the oil until 5000, but I will definitely rotate the tires every 5000. At $200 ea, I want 35,000 miles min.

What fuel are you running 87 89 91

Performance on $2.45 SoCal 87 octane is flawless. Why would I pay even more? BTW: 18.5 MPG overall. Hard to resist merging with authority...otherwise would be better.

    05 mustang owner age check

42, This is my 3rd Stang GT...When I was talking about it people kidded about "mid-life" crises. That disappears when they see the car. Vette owners, BMW owners, Merc owners appreciate this vehicle. Has nothing to do with status or age or anything other than it being a truly nice car.

    A good time to buy?

It's always a good time to buy a Mustang!

    Aerodynamics?

I'll take the head-turning good looks and awesome power over an rounded, aerodynamic version. It's not even close. Round this car off and it's not a mustang any more. Believe me, it has plenty of ability to move air out of its way.

    2005 Mustang GT governor

I had the rev limiter kick in at 6200 rpm or so, and I can tell you it's a bit disconcerting. It powers down a little and just feels weird. Once you get to know your car that shouldn't happen, and I'm glad it's only happened to me once. The "problem" is the GT is just as smooth at 6000 rpm as...

    Speed warning?

It beeps at you if you're seatbelt isn't fastened, or if your passenger's seat belt isn't fastened for that matter.

2 baby seats in the back? Is it possible?

Baby seats in the back seats are no problem as long as nobody sits in the front seats. Really, it's tight back there.

WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT THE 05 MUSTANG???

It would look better if it had mudflaps.

    Wife's jealous...what should I do now?

I finished waxing my 05 GT and was standing in the garage checking it to make sure I didn't miss a spot. It's an awesome looking car! Then my wife comes in and says, "You don't look at me like that anymore..."

Will they make a trailer hitch for 2005 GTs?

I've got an F-350 4 wheel drive pickup that I want to take down to the local track. What do you think I could add to her to give a little extra punch out of the gate?

    Current '05 owners, opinion?

It says, "Your vehicle does not need an extensive break-in. Try not to drive continuously at the same speed for the first 1000 miles of new vehicle operation. Vary your speed frequently in order to give the moving parts a chance to break in." So far, I've varied it up to 90...

First time buyer... things to watch out for?

Have your bank or credit union pre-approve your loan so you know what interest rate you have going in. The dealer will try to beat it. If he does, great, if not, you keep your financing. Use the calculators on the Edmonds site to figure your payment based on what you're going to put down and...

What did you pay for your '05 Mustang?

There is traction control, which can be turned off with the push of a button. I haven't done so yet. Once you get up to 4000-4500 rpm, you're moving. I love the 5 speed, and highly recommend it to all except those who drive in bumper to bumper traffic for a long time. There's a lively debate...

What did you pay for your '05 Mustang?

No disrespect intended, but I wonder if you drove the same car I'm driving. Granted, I've got a 5 speed, so I can't vouch for the auto, but I think there is a fair amount of power you left in reserve when you drove that car. I paid sticker, 26,525, and I'd do it again tomorrow. And the next...
