    its a 95, solenoid is mounted on the starter. the battery cables are brand new too.

    ok i heard a shim may be necessary. if this is the case, do they have specially designed shims and anyone have any idea how i can determine whether or not i need a shim and how thick of one to get?

    really? didnt know that. only bought the filter on a hope and a prayer that my stock hood may clear it. it looks close, but i am more concerned on getting it running before i worry about hood clearance

    i too am always skeptical on used parts, and unfortunately money constraints forced me to do so. the only thing i am terribly concerned about is the used carb i got, but hopefully everything will go ok for me

    if you are running a sumped tank for the carb setup, why not just keep it and run an external pump for the efi as opposed to tearing out the tank?

    on my carb swap, i ended up saving some cash. i had a longblock, and still needed injectors, maf, intake manifold, and a tune which all in all is damn near $1000 (poor college guy). on my swap to carb, i sold off my old efi parts and it really helped offset the cost. plus, i think you over payed...

    yeah thats exactly where mine should drop in. but on my 95, the idler pulley sits right there and the bracketry is al in the way and it wont clear it and drop in

    ok tried an additional ground and still makes the same noise. i dont have a chance to get the starter tested today, any other suggestions to get this thing cranking right? i need my car running again asap!

    i have a question for you- did you use a vacuum advance distributor. i have one off of an 85 gt, and the vacuum advance hits the accessory brackets, throwing it all off where it needs to go in. any advice on how to get around this, aside from buying a $200 msd dizzy?

    i have to assume that the starter is incorrect. i dont see how 2 starters could be bad back to back. il try to get to the bottom of it tomorrow
