    Water Leak in Trunk

The simplest solution is to climb inside the trunk and have a friend spray a hose around the back end, then watch where it comes in. Spray low at first, and work upward.

1st Stupid ticket of the year

I used to be a state certified vehicle inspector in RI about 25 years ago. I don't know the current laws there, but I do know that if you drive with the top up and no back window, the suction will draw your own exhaust gases into the car. With the top down, you don't have the same vacuum in that...

    Mustangs and snow

Since I got the Eagle F1 All Seasons on, I'm able to drive in snow again. That and a big bag of water softener salt in the trunk. Ice still sucks though, and it's usually solid ice from the end of my driveway to the main road.

    Washed out engine....HELP!!!

Let it warm up and it should dry out I would think.

    Anyone into saltwater aquariums?

I had one for awhile. I got tired of cleaning up the dried up salt that ran down the back of the tank onto the floor, so went back to fresh water tropicals.

    Purpose behind the key release?

I think it's a safety thing. So you don't accidently lock the steering wheel while you're driving if you or someone else reaches over and shuts the key off. Most automatics have to be in park to remove the key.

unaligned body seems. anyone else have this?

Yep. My trunk lid lines are off, wider at the back on both sides, as if the car had been in a wreck, but it came from the factory that way. And the angle at the top of the passenger door is steeper than the matching angle at the top of the rear quarter panel. I noticed both of these right after...

Replacement tires for stock Pirellis on 2005 GT

I have the F1s and I'm very happy with them. Haven't had a chance to drive in snow yet, but the wet traction seems better than the stockers were on dry pavement. Then again, when I was shopping for tires, it was a toss up between the F1 and P Zero Neros. The F1 was on sale at the time.

WHY ARE MY TOOLS ALWAYS MISSING?

I made my foam pieces when I was working at the garage. I used flat squares that parts came packed in. You might find something at a craft store or fabric store that would do the trick. The drawer with the combination wrenches looks especially neat, and you can play a tune on them like a...

WHY ARE MY TOOLS ALWAYS MISSING?

I hear that. I got my start in the USAF as an F-4E crew chief.

WHY ARE MY TOOLS ALWAYS MISSING?

I have foam pads in each drawer of my toolbox, with cutouts for the tools. I just marked the areas and burned a hole with a soldering iron. Now if a tool is missing, I know right away and look for it. Haven't lost one yet since I started doing that. Also, wrap some brightly colored tape (I like...

    Won My First Car Show!

Well, yes, at 51 I'm kind of an old fart I suppose. Mine was the silver '04 on the end of the row opposite the tent (Host Car placard dash)

    Won My First Car Show!

I was there. Actually, I was collecting money at the gate. (I had the flourescent green shirt and straw hat). Congrats to you. Fantastic show, lots of cars and spectators this year. Thanks to all that came.

Having problem after taking car to dealer for routine maintenance...

+1 on the unnecessary road test by the oil changer. Look for signs of burnouts on your rear quarters. Let the service manager try to explain that away. I always try to give the exact mileage to the service writer when I sign the repair order, so I can check it against what is shown when I pick...

    Close call.

Might have been someone on a solo test drive, I'm sure the dealer would want to know if their car was damaged too.

    which cat back system?

I went with Pypes Violators too, and I couldn't be happier. If you don't plan on replacing your midpipe, the sound is perfect. However, it might be too loud for you if you changed the midpipe. I wanted full stainless catback, good sound, and not a ton of money, and Pypes was the one that met my...

    Pypes Exhaust

I have a Pypes Violators catback, and love it. It got a bit louder a while after I installed it, but not outrageously loud. Nice sound all around. I would do it again knowing what I know now. Oh, and I can keep it fairly quiet when I need to, say if a police car is riding next to me. But they...

    water leak

If you take a hose to it, start low and work up, so you'll know at what level it starts coming in. I get water in at the front of my driver's side window, above the speaker, but not so bad that I need to do anything about it. Mostly happens with a direct hit from the wash hose.
