Took mine out of storage April 16th, earliest ever. But it's been sitting sidelined with some sort of electrical problem that I'm scratching my head over...

    How rare is my 68?

Donsbad, a C-code coupe isn't particularly "rare" but it sounds like a really nice car, especially with some excellent factory options and a beautiful interior/paint/vinyl top combination. So in answer to your question, IMHO it's not rare but it's desirable. :nice:

Has anyone fused a coupe with a fastback?

There are a ton of differences, it would be a major job. Doors, glass, interior panels front and rear, rear seat, carpet, decklid... I don't have an exact list but you see what I'm getting at. Just look through a National Parts Depot catalogue and see how many parts are fastback-specific...

What are good shocks to use on Classic Mustang?

I have the KYB's and I guess they're alright, they've gotten mushy with old age so I'm replacing them in the spring. I found a great price on generic heavy duty shocks at CarQuest which turn out to be debranded Gabriels--which I've heard is a great brand.

mercedes Q....May happen with other cars....

Could it be a solenoid on your tranny that isn't functioning properly when cold? Ford has about 700,000 transmissions just about to be recalled for a similar problem--only happens in reverse. It's refreshing to hear someone being honest about owning a foreign car... the code of silence is...

Do 14" wheels = poor handling?

Brian I have the original GT rims with--if memory serves--215-70-14 tires. This size is the closest to stock (F70-14) as I can compute with my meagre math skills. :D

    Steve McQueen Ford Commercial

Yes he was awesome--great racer, awesome actor, all-around cool guy. Although it must be said that drinking and driving isn't cool... isn't that what he was busted for in these mugshots?? (don't quote me on that)

    dyno results

He said he has Twisted Wedge heads... which is why his little 289 makes SERIOUS power! :nice: It's all about the heads. That should easily be a 13-second car.
