Why do I only feel it in 5th gear. If it was the the d/s or u-joints wouldn't it continue vibrating when put into 4th gear. It completely stops. This sort of lead me to think it probably wasn't the d/s or joints, even though there would be an improvement with the FRPP aluminum d/s.

JRICHKER is right. Buy quality. Dont use the BBK or MAC plates I used Steeda c/c plates. Another source is http://www.mustangracing.com They have J & M C/C plates for $155.

Stock box with K & N filter is suppose to be as good as any fenderwell plan. When I bought my C & L 76mm mass air kit they told me after all thier tests the stock box was as good as anything. They also told me same info you got heard about cone filter in engine bay.
