Again, Thanks for all the help. Tim65GT, 3/8? Ok might as well do it right. Not going concours (I plan on a Magnaflow system) though will weld them in through a reinforcing sheet from the inside as Dennis mentioned.

Need measurement between bolts for 65-66 dual exhaust hanger

Thanks for the replies. You were correct that I just needed the measurement for the brackets. I already have the rear hose dialed in with all the necessary stuff too. I wanted to wrap up any welding work before I put down the sound deadener. I got the seatbelt plates welded in and don't want...

Need measurement between bolts for 65-66 dual exhaust hanger

Can anyone help me with the measurement between the bolts for the 65-66 dual exhaust hangers. And are they 5/16"? I'm talking about the two bolts that poke through the floor, next to the rear seat belt bolts. I'm building my own brackets and the center to center distance would be a big help...

    fiberglass hoods

I've got a shelby hood made by Dave Brownlow, Brownlow Performance, 604-942-6719, in Vancouver BC. I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him again. He is a standup honest person. My hood fit as good as a steel one. It took very little blocking and a little primer and it was ready to go...

    Side Scoop installation

Mine are riveted on. One way is to tape them where you want them and then drill from the interior of the car through the body into the scoop. Don't move the scoop between drilling holes. I think mine are held on with 9ish rivets, 3 top, side and bottom. I got a long enough rivet so I could...

Fracked up measurements, need some hubcentric wheel spacers

Hi Frank, Have you looked at Baer? After working in auto parts for 20+ years I'd have to say theirs are the highest quality ones I have seen. They are CNC'd from 6061-T6 (sounds good). I don't believe they will be hub centric though since they are listed by bolt pattern only. I thought I...

    65 tire / wheel help

Yep, mine is at 1 3/4" I even got the bright idea to do pro-motorsports vario ecentric kit on the lower control arm. I figured that I would be removing about 1/2" of alignment shims....well then my upper arms near the shaft nuts hit the shock tower. aaarrrggghhhh! Should I worry about the...

Thanks 65Stangcoupe. The wheels on the car now are a 16x7 (w/225/50/16)American Racing like the 86 Saleen came with. They are sold to my painter. My new wheels are a Vintage V45 in a 17x8 that I ordered with a 4 3/4 bs. I haven't bought tires for them yet but would like a 235 for the front...

    Negative Wedge problem

Thanks. I can get the ca's to barely clear with 1/4" of washers (2 thick washers per bolt). Unfortunately I was thinking that I could gain some tire clearance by eliminating the camber shims with the vario-centric kit. No one was in the shop at pro-motorsports today, I'll call tomorrow...

    Negative Wedge problem

I am having a problem with my control arms hitting my shock towers. I have a negative wedge kit on the car and have for over ten years. While restoring the car and I installed a Vario-centric kit for the lower arms. Now when I install my rebuilt upper arms (with neg wedge kit) the arms...

2.5" exhaust with the GT valance panel?

Thanks guys. Still hoping for a undercar picture though. I've checked with 2 local (reputable) exhaust shops and one will only do it with 2" and the other dents the fuel tank with a pipe. I was hesitant to do that with my brand new tank but that may be the only way. Do you think it would...

Anyone done just the floor with Fatmat or Dynamat?

I'm wondering if doing just the floor and firewall with Fatmat/Dynamat would be worth it. I won't be doing the trunk, doors, or anwhere in front of the firewall. Has anyone done only these areas and did it make much difference? Thanks

Difference between 65 and 67 V8 drum spindles?

Thanks Guys. It's too late to exchange the brake kit. I guess I need to find some 65-66 spindles. I thought 67's might work, but after Danny Clemmens post, along with the uncorrectable toe in I have, I think the tie rod hole (steering arm) is in a different location on all but 65-66. I can't...
