This may sound like a stupid question, but did you install the spring when you put it back on? I forgot mine and couldn't figure out why the idle wasn't coming down until I found the spring in my pocket :rlaugh:

The synthetic causing leaks problem is just a myth that has gone way out of control.

I'm going back to re-dyno shortly. My clutch at the time was slipping badly and perhaps 5k was the limit where it would loose it's grip. We'll know more when we get it back on.

Peak HP is 5100rpm with roughly 300rwhp NA. I cross the traps at the top of 3rd gear. That's on a street tire. This car only sees the track 2-3 times a year. Now, I'm going to be running slicks 28" and most likely a 100-150 shot at the track, but 98% of the time it's a street car.

In that case, why bother with the 4.10's? Why not go 4.30 or 4.56? Perhaps you can explain why a close friend of mine, ran slower with a 4.56 over a 4.10 gear?

According to the questions I've asked there's nobody that can show that a 4.10 gear is any better than a 3.73 for these cars besides the seat of the pants feel. I've asked around every forum and not once did anyone post actual track results.

Thanks very much. All of your replied are very helpful. To continue, I race only a couple times a year so I am leaning more towards the 3.73 as my car is mainly a daily driver with a little bit of punch. A friend and neighbour of mine, who I respect greatly, has told me that the 4.10's...

Thanks guys. My car is SCT tuned and I'm probably going to with with nitrous in the future. 95% of the time I'm driving on the street. I make the trip to the track a couple times a year so I don't think a 4.10 gear is warranted. If anyone else has results, please....chime in! :nice:

I'm looking to purchase some gears very soon. I'm debating between the 3.73's and the 4.10's. Does anyone have any ACTUAL results in terms of 1/4 or 1/8 mile run where they have switched to 4.10's from 3.73 or vise versa? Everyone always says "the 4.10's are better". I know the 4.10's...

I've ordered a set from a vendor in Canada. Once I get them, I'll have pictures and a review on CMOC.ca. I don't want to reveal who it is until I see the product and it's satisfactory to recommend to people.

I have a custom tuned SCT chip. SCT or Diablo are a step in the right direction :nice:

There are definately some quick ones around...surprised it was in sleeper mode.
