    LX spoiler on a GT?

HISSIN50, thanks for the endorsement, your check is in the mail. :-) Quick91LX thanks for the pics. Now I see what is meant by the spoiler kind of wrapping around the hatch instead of sitting on top of it. It does kind of hang over the sides and the rear of the hatch. I set the spoiler...

    LX spoiler on a GT?

OK, just for clarification, I want to put an LX/86GT spoiler on a 87-93 GT hatch. It should require drilling 10 holes for the mounting studs and screws and maybe 1 more for the wiring. The old holes for the GT spoiler would be hidden underneath the spoiler once it's installed. My LX/86GT...

    LX spoiler on a GT?

I can't picture how it would draw into position with the attaching bolts. The GT spoiler was flush with the edges of the hatch and the LX/86GT spoiler measures an inch wider at the base where it would be at the same place on the sides of the hatch. It would overhang a half inch on each side...

    LX spoiler on a GT?

Yup, I would have bet money that they were all the same before this. The LX hatches have to have a different shape right at the rear where the spoiler sits.

    LX spoiler on a GT?

Has anyone ever done this? I replaced the hatch on my 86 GT with a hatch from a 87-93 GT. I wanted to take the GT spoiler off and put my 86 GT spoiler, which looks just like the 87-93 LX spoiler, back on. Thought I would just have to drill some more holes and reroute the 3rd light wires...

Help! How to remove distributor drive gear?

I tried removing the gear with a 2 jaw puller and couldn't budge it, it wanted to mushroom the end of the shaft. To get it off I had to use a bearing splitter like this: http://jcsonlinetoolshed.com/product.php/10346/962//7cf918f3a1b27d5838e03ae753395062 and an arbor press. I did this on...

how do you unbolt an 8.8?

Smock pretty much nailed it but I'll add a couple of things. Before you torque any bolts make sure that the axle is in the normal ride postion or your rubber bushings will be preloaded in an incorrect postion and bound up. I jack mine up so the weight is all off the jackstands and call that...

    swapping door guts. advice needed

I wouldn't drill the rivets out, some of them hold the door regulator ( the big cam with teeth ) as well as other things in place. I doubt that you would be able to see much. You might want to get a factory shop manual, it explains all the door and window hardware and adjustments in great...

How the heck do I take my seats apart?

On my 91 seats there were two bolts that held the whole seat back recliner mechanism to the lower part of the seat. Take those two bolts out and since you've got the bolt out of the other side it will come off. The recliner mechanism stays attached to the upper seat.

    PA Performance 130 amp upgrade

Put one on the 86, nice kit, good instructions, excellent quality. Highly recommend the 4 ga. power wire option, more of a necessary thing with a 130 amp upgrade. Service was good - I screwed up the diode they give you attached to a wire. I e-mailed them and they told me what part from Radio...

    defroster problems

My hose had a hole in it just before the connector, between the connector and the other end where it attached to the vacuum tree if I remember correctly. When I replaced the hose then all of my heat and cool positions worked again.

    Headlight Weather Stripping

5.0 Resto has them, $20 each for originals and $25 a pair for repros. My catalog is a year old, could be more now.

    defroster problems

On my 85 when I had defrost only I had a bad vacuum line in the engine compartment. It ran across the firewall over to the passenger side to a connector. Then it ran inside the passenger compartment to the heater controls. It was easy to find.

    door swap

The advantage of ordering the pins from a Mustang parts house is that they only carry the ones that fit the Mustang so you get the ones that fit and all of the pieces that you need at one time. If you get the pins from your local parts house in the Help section then you have to pay attention...

    door swap

I changed both doors on my 85 by removing the pins like you're talking about. It wasn't too bad, one door lined up good but one was off. I took out the plastic liner in the front fender on that side then I could get to the hinge bolts on that side to adjust it. I used new pins and bushings. I...
