    '95 5.0 And T5 Any Good?

Supposedly 25K on rebuild and 1K on tranny. Somone local has this combo for sale for $1,400. Isn't there something with the pistons that make this not a good engine to build from? My plan is to get to 350 - 400 hp with whatever I get (build a 302 or a stroker), just not sure this is a good base.

    Keep Or Scrap 8" Rear

I looked at Currie's website for the billet side cover but couldn't find it. Could you elaborate on this piece?

    Keep Or Scrap 8" Rear

Not planning on drag racing. So I shouldn't be concerned with the history of the housing? I'm trying to get the brake drum off now so I can pull the axles to check for pitting at the seals, that may be another issue I have to deal with.

    Mustangs To Fear Fiberglass Nose

Looks good. Like the hide away plate, since we have to have the damn things in Virginia, too.

    Keep Or Scrap 8" Rear

Back when my 65 was a daily driver, I had a problem with the rear tires wearing on the inside. Took it to a body/frame shop, they initially said that a PO was probably hit on the side, tweaking the diff tubes a little bit. When they started measuring, they found that the housing had somehow...

    Mustangs To Fear Fiberglass Nose

Any thoughts on how this would look on a '65 coupe without the rest of the eleanor kit, except maybe the lower side scoops? I figure I may have to replace both headlight buckets, front valance, and bumper, I'm most of the way there. I love the look of Rally lights, and have been trying to...

    Flowmaster Exhaust System

Thinking about getting a flowmaster exhaust system, from collectors back. I'm wondering what kind of 'fabrication' I can expect to do to get the kit to match up to headers. I have an old set of Blackjack headers (I think Hedman bought them at one time or another) that I installed in the late...

Stripping Paint - How To Treat

I'm in teardown mode on my coupe. I had it painted back in 1989 with Imron paint, and while it looked great with little upkeep, it chipped if you looked at it funny. Now I just want to take it down to the base metal and repaint. My question is, knowing that this is going to be a slow process...

    Steering upgrade question

I recently acquired some parts off a '65 Mustang that was being upgraded to a full Griggs setup. One of the parts that I got was a rebuilt quick ratio steering box. It has the short shaft and stops at the bottom part of the coupler/rag joint. Of course since mine is a '65 it has the long...

    Full Frontal

I broke the drivers side rear bolt on the bumper support. And it went down hill from there. The easy out snapped off in the bolt, and half the weld holding the nut on broke. I'm going to have to replace that part of the frame rail just because of that.

    1965 Mustang rust repair

Since you are working in the area, do you do anything special to reinforce the quarter panel where it tends to tear just behind the quarter window?

    POR 15 questions

What can I say, paranoia is my thing. When you break as much stuff as I do, you tend to make damn sure you know what you are doing before you mess something up.

    POR 15 questions

I am really hoping it doesn't come to that. I can see one small hole from the top, and the seam is pretty rough in the one picture I have there, but looking up into the drain hole it looks pretty clean in there. I need to pull out the interior underdash to get a good look from underneath. How...

    POR 15 questions

Great, so I have $200 worth of the stuff on it's way to me, and it sounds like it's a waste of money. Let me ask you this, here's a pic of the inner fender, in the corner just rear of the drivers side hood hinge. You can see where I scraped away the undercoating and seam sealer. The...

    POR 15 questions

A buddy of mine that restores early Broncos (17 to date) warned me against using POR 15 on new metal. He said the first Bronco he did, he stripped the frame down to the bare metal, sprayed it with zinc phosphate, and after that dried he applied the POR 15. After it dried he noticed a spot that...

Are you saving the oil pressure sending unit and extension for last or something? Those are easy one bolters!

It's always something. Now what do I do?

I'll try that, but it still seems like the bolt head is too far up in that hole to get a scredriver on it to pry down. I'm going to have to find an extra set of hands for this one.

It's always something. Now what do I do?

Thanks for the input, but you can't fit a die grinder up in that hole. Maybe I can use a dremel with a flex shaft to get up in there, but it will be tight plus the bolt will just spin I'm thinking. I have the other fender off, and I can't see any way to access the back side of the nut even...
