Is there any way to alter the rev limilter?

I had an MSD in my 65 that just interrupted the spark instead off shutting things down. Its tough in a turn when it hits.

Just wanted to tell everyone how much I have appreciated your help. My son will be driving the 65 now and I will be learning how to tame the new one. I have demanded visitation rights. I'll be checking in anyway cause I might can still help some others. See you soon!

    Rear Suspension Belp

Rear Suspension Help I have 5 leaf mid eye rear leafs on my 65 with KYB gas adjusts. I am running 17x8s with tires that hit up inside my wheel wells on bad dips when I am alone which is 99 % of the time and fairly often when I travel with a passenger and luggage. No damage is caused but it is...

    I Highly recommend Opentracker

I just finished installing LCAs with spherical bearings, adjustable strut rods, and a roller idler arm on my 65. I already had their UCAs and roller spring perches. The car is more precise and easy to steer. It has no "slop" over bumps meaning it feels tighter, it tracks better. I am very...

    Next engine build

I need to build an engine. My 289 has been rebuilt three times and has 300K + on it. I want to buy a good 302 roller block to start the build. I use my car as a daily driver and the engine will sit in front of a T5Z and 3:55 gears. I will autocross a few times a year. I already have Edelbrock...

Has anybody done a 289 roller lifter conversion?

I have searched and Googled and still really don't know what is really necessary. I am about to pull down a freshley re-built 289 that may have wiped a cam lobe. It was broken in properly. I re-built it because it wiped a lobe at about 24K miles after a cam change. I have the money...

    Lifter noise

I have 150 daily driver miles on a fresh 289. I broke the cam and lifters in with Valvolene VR1 and Comp Cams additive for 30 mins at 2000-2500 rpm then changed to fresh oil and filter. One lifter taps for about 10 secs unless I spin the engine some before setting the choke. All per-loaded 3/4...

    New engine start up, mixture?

I have upgraded my engine from Edelbrock performer intake, cam, and Performer RPM heads with stock pistons, to Edelbrock performer RPM intake, Comp Cams XE268H, KB Flat top pistons. Do I need to make the mixture richer before I run it for 30 minutes at 2500 rpm? I don't want it too lean nor do I...

    Fuel economy

I took a short mile trip this weekend. On the way there I drove at 80/85 and got 17.8 mpg. On the way back stayed below 70 and got 21.9 mpg. I saved 8 bucks by spending a little more time on the road. I am going to stay below 2000 rpm shift point and see what I can do on my daily drive which is...

    E-Brake handle solution

After 40 years my plastic handle broke. The new one broke after two weeks. This one will stay. I took the handle to Lowes, found a pipe thread that matched the OD of the shaft coming from the E-Brake, force threaded it to the handle, drilled and tapped a hole to match the hole in the shaft...
