    mechanic took out my 160* thermostat for a 195* themostat

    Our cars like to run between 195-210. If you are in a very hot climate like Arizona, than a 180* is fine. Other than that the 195* is the way to go.

    Flows are the most popular for a reason. They just sound good. Mac has a nice sound as well. i went with the Frpp headers, magnaflow catted h and american thunder cat back. i believe those are the two chambers. Sounds great.

    I went with Steeda Steel upper and lower. Made a difference. I also had the torque box seems welded.

    You can jack the rear up by the dif. Just make sure you have a jack pad or a folded towel. The K member should be ok.

    If you have a GT hang on to those cheese graters! Although I like the LX tails better, the keeping the original cheeses will only help in the value of the car down the road.

    Thanks. Last night I felt the top rad hose after a drive and it was hot. the lower hose was cool. I think it might be the stat. I am going to get a guage this weekend and also go to the 180*. We'll see.

    Get some Crud Cutter (?spell) at lowes. it's great. Don't use a pressure washer. You may make any leaks that you have worse.

    New headers, how to keep stud in?

    I just did mine last month. The studs for the FRPP headers are tapered a little. they WILL screw all the way on. They tapered the studs so that it gets a little tighter as you thread it into the header flange. I used a set of vice grips for mine. Just be careful not to damage the threads...
