    Cost!! Most american cars are only sold with automatics so there is only 1 pedal cluster to develop. The Mustang has a fairly high percentage of sales with a manual for an american car. The mustang was specifically developed to be low cost and adjustabel pedals just couldn't be justified.

    Eclipse vs. Mustang

    If nothing else the eclipse has one irrepairable flaw for a performance car. It has wrong wheel drive. The same pair of wheels are trying to steer and put down power. This is never a good combination. Also the rear seat appears to be even tighter than the mustang.

    I have driven a prototype Impala SS. It is basically a 4 dr monte carlo. Same platform and powertrain. It is not even in the same league as the mustang. First of all, it is wrong wheel drive and it has a really nasty torque steer problem. The accel won't be nearly as good as the stang.

    It is unlikely that such a kit would fit the gt500 engine since the heads are different (twin cams on the gt500 and single cam on the gt). Since the gt500 is already supercharged why would you want twin turbos?
