Sounds like you're off to a good start. I would also suggest while you are at the JY to take a look at some of the diesel trucks. The huge IC's from Cummins and Powerstrokes are always a great find.

Ok did a little research. I believe you have the 4-speed IB4 manual transmission. People who know more on this trans chime in.

My only guess is that it could be the "Type E" transmission. Unfourtunatly there isn't much info on this tranny.

me as what all of the above said. just bore it out slightly do the forged internals and other appropriate work and you can have a nice cruiser.

There really are no good cam upgrades for an NA 2.3L. I believe it is the 89s and up that cam with the Ranger roller cam. if you catch a snag, Stingers page has a great walk thru of a A4LD to T5 swap.

i would take you dual exhaust, put two dyno max mufflers on and dump 'em:nice:
