    CRAZY STORY 05 Stang

My personal recommendation....(don't shoot the messenger - some of us just aren't mechanics and I'm chief amoung them)....get a mechanic to fix it and don't mess with it again :) Hell I'm so bad my WIFE usually fixes anything that goes wrong mechanically around our house...I did however...

    Crunch!!!

Man I'd have snipped his tail off and tied it to the antenna, then backed over and drove over his butt till he was nothing but mush, then posted a PETA PIZZA sign next to him for all the world to see :)

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

I know my dealership went someways to making me feel better by offering to reimburse me the month my car has been in their shop by paying me a car payment. It was something anyways. Earl

    Front Plate - Texas

Gone or not there ain't no plate on the front of my 'stang! Shhhh....the man ain't noticed yet. Earl

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

With the exception of my very first car (a '73 Datsun 610) everything I've owned has been Big 3 - and mostly Ford. It would seem to me that most people with Honda's don't seem to have many if any problems. But as I said, I've never owned one - well techincally I did as my wife had an...

    Window tint scratches!

Oh hell I just had to take a look at this thread :) Throw another booboo on the barbie....since the dealership did my tinting (and its scratched due to lack of felt) its time to add something else to the "fix it" list. Earl

2005 Mustang GT Stolen from Ford Dealership

Hell your request was totally valid if you ask me. I'd tell the service manager to talk to his attorney all he wants. You just talked to the police and profered grand theft auto charges against the dealership. It was stolen by one of their authorized personell while under their care - theft...

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

Sounds like you either don't have an '05 Stang or haven't ran your heater :) On the floor vent with heater - a small amount of heat coming out the top exhaust vent would be ok, but we are talking a large volume - much more than what comes out the floor. It is a defect, with a TSB and NO fix...

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

I wouldn't exactly call it blind loyalty, I can assure you the dealership service men, women, and managers know me by name and run when I come around :) I have had the same poor quality control problems (worse in fact) with GM and Chrysler so Ford is just where I decided to stay. Not blind...

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

I could not possibly disagree with this statement any more than I do. It's just wrong - or should be. There are plenty of manufacturers in the auto industry which you can purchase a brand spanking new car from and have a reasonable expectation of not having problems. Granted, they aren't...

    Very Disappointed, Diguisted, etc....

I can understand where he's coming from... Well its not my first post and I can certainly sympathize with the guy. My Mustang has been back to the shop a hell of alot more times than 5: Just off the top of my head I can think of : Brake squeeking (2 times, never fixed) Front end popping...

    Lemon Laws and our Warranty

I'd say it could be a slippery slope. For instance there is a TSB now on the rear differential. I'd imagine that if you had replaced the gears, a pain in the butt dealership could say that the problem is due to your work. Proving otherwise would result in a legal expense on your part. Earl

Need input for Q-Logic sub box development

Looks great. I have a Q-Logic box in my '05 - the standard 10" box with a Rockford 10" P2 sub. It takes up more space in the corner of course than this option would and gives me a smaller sub. IMO the standard grill that I have on my Q-Logic box would be fine for the custom box for the '05...

    Charger SRT8 -

I'd be very surprised if it even got anywhere near that...I had a Dodge Magnum V8 Ram truck - wasn't even a hemi...that dang thing didn't even get over 10mpg in the city... My GT is my daily driver....it actually does pretty good. I'm entirely in the city so I don't have exceptional mileage...

    Charger SRT8 -

Let me preclude my remarks that I'm a '05 GT owner and LOVE my car. I agree with the remarks made by some here that the Charger is big...very big...and yep its a 4-door sedan. Hell I'd almost want to ditch my '03 Explorer and go to this as our "family" vehicle. That said, its no 300...

    manual tranny noises

I think mine exhibits the exact same noise...if so, I doubt a tranny replacement is going to change it as it may well be one of the damn stinking sounds that are endemic to this stinking loud noisy tranny...just my opinion. I haven't taken it in for that exact problem as I'm sure they will...

    Pics of speakers inside door

I don't have to - your statement is exactly what I'm saying. I agree - for best sound components can't be beat. For my purposes though the Pioneer 4-ways sound exceptional and were priced well. I should clarify they sound exceptional in a sound room. To get equivelent sound in my car will...

    Pics of speakers inside door

Basically. A frequency crossover mechanism directs frequencies either above or below certain hz signals to different sources - hence mid and highs are directed to the component mid and tweeters in the doors, lows to the subs, and a signal appropriate for the wimpy paper cone rears to the...

    Pics of speakers inside door

If you did not replace your factory head unit, amps, and wiring - I assure you you are NOT getting a full range signal to the replacement door and rear speakers. It simply isn't possible as the factory amps have a crossover that controls that. Now if you put in 2 ways - then there isn't...

    Pics of speakers inside door

Several people have replaced the door subs with 8" JL and other similar sized subs. You are right though, they don't fit in the custom enclosure. It requires custom fiberglass work to put them in the doors - you are also right about the magnet size on the door subs and their power capabily...
