    Code 6 AIRBAG LIGHT! 90 5.0! CLOCKSPRING?

I just took apart mine. The airbag cloockspring is an incased by the outer one that holds the horn, and cruise control. It is easy to clean if you get the wheel off, and have the torq. tools to pull the spring. Warning! Discount you battery, don't want to blow that sucker up, and to clean or...

    Blinkers don't work

I had a similar problem with my 88 stang. The turn signal lever was really lose and so I got one from a junkyard. If you have a chance, take it out, and try jumping the wires to make the turn signal lights go on, that way you can verify that it's the lever assembly and not wiring elsewhere...

    Will not rev up

I have checked all codes with engine on, engine off, and came up with only emissions purge codes. Because I removed the thermactor. I have had problems with platinum plugs with my pervious stang and I made sure to run coppers in this one. I like the PIP idea, since I've been leaning towards a...

    Will not rev up

A 1991 5.0 with manual trans, 127,000, and bone stock besides header back exhaust and tune up. For some time now I haven't been able to rev above 4500 rpm, and when I do go that high it sounds like the engine hits a brick wall. After a good 15,000 miles of this problem I am ready to dive in...

    Engine dies at 4,500

I've had this 91GT for about 2 years now but I have never been able to shake the problem of it's poor rpm limiter. The motor has 126,000 on it and has next to zero modifications. Basically is has no emission system and it has no cats, but besdies that it all factory. It doesn't smoke and it...

    Valvetrain question

Any ideas or comments would be great, thanks ahead of time. I have a 91 GT with a stock motor and and 121,000 miles. It's so stock that it still has all those original ford stickers on everything. My problem is that the motor will not rev above 4,500 rpm. Once you get to 4,500 rpm it makes...

    T5 fluid fill

I pulled the shifter out, and while I was in there I put in a new shifter bushing. amazing what a 3 dollar plastic bushing will do to improve the shifter feel. although your going to need some time to get at a couple bolts, it's a bit tight in there.

    Manual Trans rebuild?

A few places offer rebuild kits for T5's, and I was curios if anyone has ever done one. It just feels sloppy and I would like to be able to use reverse without holding the trans in 5th to slow down the gears. I mean under 300 bucks and I get syncros, bearings, seals and other such parts. Is...

    runs out of Revs

Ideas No, just copper plugs, and I didn't have the regulator Vac. line off. I didn't know that it would do anything different. The mill has 120,000 miles and runs like a champ up to 4,000 rpm, and then it starts to run like an old milked out 4 cylinder. I have the stock rear end with the...

    runs out of Revs

This has been the problem with my car since day 1, and I was curious as to your thoughts on the matter. My 91 GT is almost stock. It was treated to an H-pipe, flowmasters, and an air silencer removale before I got it. I added a few degrees of timing advance, and did a fresh tune up not to...

    clutche and flywheel install?

I did it in my driveway with a set of jackstands, basic tools and a little experience. The biggest problem is pulling the H-pipe out, but not to bad if it's not rusted together. I hope you are going to use a clutch aligment tool, and make sure you put a little tread lock on those bolts, I've...

    Smog removed

Thanks, I could hear a bit of noise coming from the check valve when I brought the rpms up. I'll probably just plug it with a cap, and call it good.

    Smog removed

I am new to this posting deal, so I hope I got it right. Anyways I removed the air pump, hoese, air valves and such that are on the passenger side of the engine bay. The pump's bearings went out, and was making all sorts of noise. I don't have cats anymore, so this system is useless in my...
