    Looking at that diagram I'd definitely check the first harness, pin/wire #2. That's wire is the ground for that harness. The reason I say check that particular harness is that all the stuff you mentioned that has gone bad is on that one harness.

    Certainly could be your EGR, also make sure a vaccum line to the EGR isn't broken. If a vaccum line breaks all hell tends to break loose.

    Honestly though, it really does sound like a ground issue. Possibly the fender ground or the block to firewall ground strap. I had a block to firewall ground strap go out on me and it caused all kinds of starting issues. Even ended up glowing red and causing a fire. I'd check that too...
