Are all 351 Windsors created equal?

The early 351W engines are supposed to be stronger than the later ones but that shouldn't matter unless you're going to have an engine with a lot of hp. I also think that the 94 and later (if this is not the correct year somebody please correct it) have provisions for a roller cam.

    Coupon Codes..

I've bought from this place, Performance Auto Parts and Truck Accessories a couple of times and have nothing but praise for them. Just google Streetside Auto coupon codes and you should be able to find some.

    1966 9 in rear end ??

The best donors are 57 thru 59 Ford cars and probably Mercs too. I was told that the Edsel had the same rear too but I can't confirm it.

    351W Build

My vote would go for the 408 also. It'll be easy to get it over 400 hp and still be very streetable.

    is an A-Code 1967 a gt?

I had a 67 C code GTA when I was in high school. It was my first Mustang and I'd sure like to have it back but have no idea where it's at. I didn't think it was a real GTA at the time because like many I didn't think a GT/GTA came in a C code.

It would really help if you could find somebody who knows Mustangs to go look at it with you and point the negatives and positives out.

    Completely Baffled

If you have the old type distributor in working condition I'd put it back on and try it. Be safe over in Iraq and hopefully you can get this straightened out before you leave. If not you or your son keep us posted.

    Need A Little Hand Holding....

Congrats on the purchase of your Mustang. :nice: I'm going to say something a little different than some of the other guys. I'm not saying that you couldn't do this job by yourself but it wouldn't hurt to have somebody to help you with this job. If you can find a good shade tree mechanic...

    Looking into engine options: 445FE

I love the FE powered Mustangs that were original to them but if I were going to build a car for driving on the road I would use a Windsor simply because of the weight advantage.

Got my C4 AAMCO rebuild back today..Oh Man...I need some advise

I'm thinking that if the modulator valve is bad or the vacuum line came loose that it would not shift into 3rd and you would have to shift it manually from first to second. Might want to check that.

    9 inch rear end

Any 9" from a 67 thru 70 Mustang or Cougar. All 69 and 70 Cougars had 9" rears.

    reinforced shock towers

Find a 69 or 70 Cougar and take them off. As far as I know all of them had 'em.

    Fenders for 66

I bought a couple of the patch panels (bottom by the door) several years ago and they didn't look right. Somebody might have some that'll look right though. I wound up buying some of the original tooling fenders.

    Pulling Car out of storage

I believe I'd at least drain the gas. It might not hurt anything but I don't believe I'd take the chance.

    Where To Get Distributor Bushings

I know the early Mustang distributors had one bushing but doesn't the later ones have two. I haven't ever had one apart but that's what I was thinking. My distributor is for a 70 351. Thanks for the Glazier/Nolan number. :nice:

    Where To Get Distributor Bushings

I've been searching for a place to buy distributor bushings and so far I'm not having any luck. Any of you guys know a good place to buy them? I know some of you will say I'd be better off buying an aftermarket distributor but I want to stick with the stock look and Pertronix.

    Header Shrouding On 351W

This isn't going to be a screamer and is being built with the main priority being torque which I think I'll have plenty of. The headers could have been widened a little bit at the factory to take care of the problem but I guess production numbers is key on a cheap part. I think I'll grind...
