4 Point Seat Belt without Harness Bar?

SCROTHE harness works, I know several people running them as well in other street cars. If I remember correctly, they are the only harness available that is DOT legal

4 Point Seat Belt without Harness Bar?

I currently have the lap portion of the harness attached to the factory mounting locations for the lap belt, and the shoulder parts attached to the rear seatbelt mounting points, using a seat with harness slots This is holding me untill I get a cage Could it possibly be any more dangerous...

    289 Engine Redline

    1. Rev engine untill rod failure 2. Back off a few hundred rpm :D But seriously, on a stock 289 I doubt the head/cam are flowing or making any power past 4000-4500 rpm, they just fall asleep. I run mine to 5300 intermitantly, it seems to make power up there with the intake/cam...

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

Suggestions for the thread starter 1. Buy a minivan 2. Drive kids to soccer practice 3. Stop trolling the vintage mustang section of stangnet telling us how much you don't want a classic car

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

This is what I see. 1. You ask how safe a vintage mustang can be 2. Show us crash testing footage of a chevy bel-air 3. Say that vintage mustangs can not be safe enough And you are a software engineer. Try and compile this 1. Chevy Bel-air is not a Ford Mustang 2. Different...

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

I think he is trying to say that a chevy bel air would perform differently in a crash test compared to a ford mustang.

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

I almost forgot. Get a fuel cell, or a peice of sheet metal welded/bolted in as a barrier between you and the trunk/fuel tank compartment.

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

Upgrade the lap belts to a porperly installed 3 or 4 point harness. I think most of the damage the driver in the crash with the malibu would have suffered was due to the top half of his body being thrusted forward into the wheels/dash etc. At least his ass was still planted firmly in the...

Rocker arm slipped off, GT40 heads

Just updating The guides are .060" thick, and several of my rockers were shimmed to .060, which was perfect. However, several of my rockers were also not shimmed or shimmed .030, causing a bit of a problem with lash. My valve geometry was correct before the installation of the guides, so...

    M&R Engines on Ebaymotors

This is just horrible, both in the people that got screwed, and that the guy is actually coming on and defending himself as a "satisfied customer" If the admins would do an IP check so we can verify that the user account was in or around the area of the shop, it would be icing on the cake

    U-joints. Tight/loose/sloppy vibrations

I have 1 inch lowering blocks in the rear between the leaf and the axle, I measured and milled some off so that the block is now both a lowering block, and an angled shim. This corrected the driveline angles, and with a test drive I hope that the vibrations are either much better or completely gone

What temperature is considered over heating?

I would say under 220-230 you should be fine, as long as its not boiling over

Rocker arm slipped off, GT40 heads

They look to be thin enough, hopefully .030 or so Thanks for mentioning those things, I'd hate to be running without them. Are they pretty much required for running pedestal type rockers on my particular head?

    U-joints. Tight/loose/sloppy vibrations

Correction in angles. The driveline has 1 degree up The rear pinion is 2 degrees down The transmission is 1 degree up I was going to raise the rear of the transmisison 1/4-1/2 inch to make it get 1 degree down hopefully to be within 1 degree of difference and hopefully get rid of the...
