    Snow Tires for a GT

I bought Michelin X-Ice for my Mustang and will put them on in a month and see how they will be. Considering that they are a descendant of the Michelin Arctic Alpin, only better, I am expecting a top notch winter tire. I have had two cars with the MichelinArctic Alpin and they are outstanding...

    Winter salt is near

I kept the standard 17" polished rims for winter when I upgraded my summer wheels. YOu cannot go 16", nor do I think you would want that in the GT if you are going to drive it in the winter. My 99 GT was a great winter car as it was the first year with the traction control. I had Goodyear...

Today was a good first test, 8 degrees celsius this morning. AAAAHHHHH....quiet and rattle free! I encourage all to get it fixed at the dealer, I am a much happier person in my Mustang now!

    Dash Rattle

Guys, I made a threa dof ryou to read because many have it. Like others said it is a bracket behind the air bag that needs to be tightened by your dealer. I had it and now it is fixed...it took them a while to find it but they did.

My pass. side rattle is fixed...here's how!

No, it is behind the airbag, so irregardless of the trim you have, many Mustangs have this irritating dash rattle.

My pass. side rattle is fixed...here's how!

It is metallic sounding with a very high frequency. It happens especially when cold and you must turn up the stereo to not hear it. Very annoying and goes away when you ;ush down on the aluminum trim.

My pass. side rattle is fixed...here's how!

This most certainly is a dealer job. After all, the problem is a car problem since new. Plus, you have to take the dash apart to get behind the airbag.

    For those with lowered Mustangs...

Wayne you are 100% right! They ordered new tires and the same problem was there. So I had new Falkens which were quieter (the Falken supplier said that the older tires was not stored properly which was why they were very noisy). Anyways, the shope foreman was into his lament that I traded...

My pass. side rattle is fixed...here's how!

Have had it since day 1. Metallic sounding. It gets worse when it is colder. Hence during the summer months, it wasn't too bad, but now it is back. With a vengeance. I have pushed down on the aluminum trim. It stops. I have reached underneath, inside the glove box and pushed down...

    For those with lowered Mustangs...

I think we may have found the culprit: they now suspect that the stick-on weights are falling off. I told them to hammer the metal weights on the inside, at this point I really don't care. I just want it fixed. One mechanic thinks it is actually the driveline because it was lowered! I...

just did the Eibach Pro-Kit last night

So far the best thing I have done is the Eibach Pro-Kit. The ride penalty has lessened in the past month for whatever reason. To the point where I forget that I have lowering springs in the car!

Anyone know weight of polished factory wheels? Unsprung weight...

Maybe to clarify I meant the polished rim as in the non-Bullit wheel. If anyone knows i would appreciate an answer.

Anyone know weight of polished factory wheels? Unsprung weight...

I'll take that as sarcasm. If it is, don't you have anything better to do? If you are serious, well thanks then.

Anyone know weight of polished factory wheels? Unsprung weight...

Probably should have checked this before I got my rims, I just automatically assumed that aftermarket rims are lighter. not so and especially if you have chrome wheels, which apparently can weight up to 34 lbs.! My 18" American racing Casinos weight 27lbs. which seem decent considering it...

Lowering springs, Front Camber & Rear Panhard Bar

With the Eibach pro kit on myine, the mechanic said tha there is a slight camber built into these springs. he said do not get the camber plates because this will negate the handling effects of the Eibachs. It will just look nice but the little negative camber produces much better handling...

    For those with lowered Mustangs...

Does that mean the tire is defective? They did the road force balance and they found them to be .50 off. This machine tells them where to put the weights etc... It felt fine for a few days but then it returns! The tires showed to be 15lbs. of "something" , a term that I can't remember...

    For those with lowered Mustangs...

I just went on a long test drive with a mechanic friend of mine and he felt the slight steering wheel vibration at 55mph and then the vibration in the seats at 80 mph. The vibration in the wheel is gone at, like, 58mph and the one in the seat is gone at 84-85mph. He thinks without a doubt it...

That is interesting. Once they dropped the suspension, they did a wheel alignment...do you mean have another one done?

    For those with lowered Mustangs...

For those with lowered Mustangs...update Any problems with wheel balancing? I put in an Eibach Pro Kit which is great. I like the ride and handling but I have steering wheel vibration. No problem I though, just rebalance the wheels, which were Falken FK451 with American Racing Casinos...
