HELP LETS SEE WHO KNOWS THE 97 COBRA

There's your problem. If they aren't OEM or Screamin Demon chances are they can't keep up. MSD are notorious for failing at high rpms. -Mark

    96-98 4v cobra question??

Well there's always a headers, pullies, shortrunner intake, bigger gears, and if you want to spend a little more money a set of cams if you want to stay N/A. A power adder is your best bang for buck. -Mark

    Teksid Block Questions

Save your money. WAP's can handle 600rwhp no prob. Modular blocks in general are very strong. I think mainly because the cam(s) don't have to go through the block like a pushrod. If tons of 03/04 cobras are putting down 600-700rwhp with a KB or whipple with a 2 bolt main (not counting side...

what mods to get 325-350 hp at the tires

With all the bolt-ons you can get to 300-305rwhp with good tune. From there a shortrunner intake can get you to 318-325rwhp. There are a few forum guys on the net that still make shortrunners for the 96-98 cobras. I am one of them. I picked up 16rwhp and 4rwtq at peak with my intake. If you...

    blend air door?

I had to replace the blend door motor in my F150. No matter what I did the driver's side would blow hot and the pass cool. The motor is plastic and the teeth strip out. Luckily mine was just behind the center kick panel in the cab. -Mark

What are the best "bang for the buck" bolt ons for the 96-98 Cobras?

If you are not going to take it to the track then get some 4.10's, Kooks or BBK LT's, O/R h-pipe, tires, and pullies and you'll have a quick little street car. For clarification bolt-ons are non FI mods that do not require the removal of the valve covers. Hence the term people use of stock...

    Camaro SS

Stock LS1 vs a geared 96 4v is a close race. The 4v will probably trap around 103ish and stock ls1 would be around 106. So if the cobra gets the hit/holeshot I say it's a drivers race. -Mark p.s. all 96-98 4v's are slow. ;)

Cobras love gears 4.10+ I haven't seen a 5L at the track running the same times as me or even close with still running stock longblock. DOHC all the way. -Mark

All the (LS1 curious) Stang owners come inside... MUHAHAHAHA.... cough

You pulled a 1.9 w/ 03 cobra on stock radials on IRS? Pretty good! Isn't the weight of the 03 is alot more than a f-body? I don't have a prob with any LS1's ;) Except for my wifes. If she loses, I lose, catch my drift? ;) -Mark

`98 Cobra too slow need help

Shift the car at 7k on the 1-2 and 2-3. On the 3-4 shift at 6600-6800. When you shift higher it puts you in the meat of the powerband for the next gear. With 4.10's and nittos you should be mid 13's. Run the nittos between 16-18psi depending on the track prep. I pulled consistant 1.7's with 17"...
