Engine Valve train noise after cam swap

So I'm gonna guess the heads are studded...you don't "torque" the poly locks first, you run them to zero lash, then add the 1/4-1 turn or if you measure it, 0.020-0.060" lifter plunger preload, or have I missed something in your description? If your PTV is properly measured/cleared with a solid...

    Engine Another bad distributor?

I already mentioned it above-Check all teh wiring that goes to the TFI. There's a thread or two about it on here, a quick search should reveal it

    Engine Another bad distributor?

You said you checked continuity on the STI and the ohms were high. Was that with the computer connected or disconnected? IF it's high with the computer connected, you're trying to shoot continuity through the ECU...if it's high with the computer disconnected, and the wire isn't shorted to...

    Engine Another bad distributor?

I would caution that you might have a wiring issue...might be better to check the harness before putting in another computer

    Engine Another bad distributor?

As long as it's the same kind of computer (auto for auto, man for man) you'll be good...don't put a manual computer in place of an auto, the O2 harnesses are different and it'll feed 12v to a circuit that only takes 5v.

    Engine Another bad distributor?

He posted another article a few days ago-looks like he has issues retrieving codes...which leads me to believe he has wiring issues or possibly something wrong with the PCM

Engine Engine Running hot. I cannot figure out why.

I'm going to assume you burped the system, because air can cause some issues, but if the temps are steady that might not be your problem. As far as the water pump, I'm going to assume here that you noted a difference between the diameter of the old and the new impellers? If by solid you mean...

Fuel Fuel Filler Neck Housing Removal

Hatch struts were the items I wasn't keen on waiting to replace...I'm over 6' tall, so banging my head on stuff loses it's entertainment value incredibly fast

    Engine Another bad distributor?

I guess I should've clarified-the salt and pepper shakers don't have anything to do with the distributor-it was a general statement they get corroded over time and lose continuity. The TFI wiring doesn't run through them, and that's what I should've asked. Those wires coming off the TFI are...

    Engine Another bad distributor?

I hate swapping parts (which equates to wasting money) that don't need to be, so what I'm about to tell you assumes you've eliminated all other possibilities. If I had two similar units take a dump on me within a year, I'd be looking for a different vendor, OR scouring the junkyards for an...

    Engine Another bad distributor?

It's conceivable for a reman to be bad or have crib death, but have you rerun through the cranks but doesn't start checklist? checked the wires back to the ECU? 30 year old wiring is more suspect every day...especially at the salt and pepper shakers, but run the checklist.

Thanks man-as much as I can manage with all the other things that daily life brings...I usually don't get to work on my 84 or my 86 Capri (recent acquisition) as much as I'd like, but I try

Holy crap it's been forever since I wrote on here...so, I feel I owe a little recap of what's been going on and what's not been going on As I said above, in July 13 I moved to Hawaii for 2.5 years...basically nothing happened to forward the project as I thought could've...yeah...such is life...

Digital Tuning Holley EFI vs factory EEC

It's no picnic... Rockwell didn't do people any favors with the way they designed things with regard to maintainability; largely all those bugaboos were by virtue of the requirements placed on the platform and all its systems. The biggest issue with hydraulics is there's no step up pumps to...
