Sudden Loss of Oil Pressure, then Perfect....

Are you running a fram oil filter? They are constructed cheaply (except the black rubber handle that gets people to buy a worthless filter) and are known to cause erratic oil pressure, drop in pressure and oil starvation. If this is the case get a wix made filter from napa.

    plugging smog holes

I've done it by welding the smog tube or using a 5/8 11 bolt about 3/4" or 1" long. To use the bolt as a plug you'll need to figure out a way to get the carbon out of the hole. This will be a difficult task with the engine in the car. With the heads off the car I use a wire brush drill bit that...

    trying to find a 351w

74 and older blocks are known to have a higher nickle content making them a little stronger than 75 and up blocks. Also you can have your block machined for after market 4 bolt main caps.

Advice Needed for Cam/Intake/Carb for my N/A 347......

My custom roller cam was $257 shipped from cam research. I'm sure a solid or hydr flat tappet cam is significantly lower. I like 'em cause all they grind is Ford cams.

Advice Needed for Cam/Intake/Carb for my N/A 347......

Advice Needed for Cam/Intake/Carb for my N/A 347......

Get a custom cam from cam research, 1-303-762-0022. Holley 750 DP and a victor jr should feed your 347 well at high rpm's. I would seriously consider a solid lifter setup. It's not a daily driver so adjustments will be infrequent, and no hydraulic lifter holds a candle to a solid at high rpm's...

what all do i need going from efi to carb?

Holley blue is my best bet. Mallory pumps are smoother and quieter but alot more dough.

How do i eliminate lifter tick?

Also make sure you're running enough oil. Low oil can cause the lifters to bleed down.

what all do i need going from efi to carb?

If you want to go to an external electric fuel pump I suggest the holley blue. There are more quiet pumps but for my hard earned dough this is the pump. Also cartech systems makes a fuel tank insert that goes in place of your efi pump, and even reuses the pick up screen. It has larger lines than...

what all do i need going from efi to carb?

Distributor shaft on a roller distributor is bigger around than a non efi 302 distributor, so the gears will not interchange. Get a distributor for a 85 GT manual trans. Comes with a magnetic trigger and a steel gear. About $55 for a reman. It is easier for you to read Jason Fletcher's site than...

Why does my TB say Edelbrock AND BBK on it??

I've seen that before. I heard (take that for what its worth) that edelbrock used to make bbk's throttle bodys but they no longer do. Is it an older piece? I've seen new ones that only have bbk on them.

changeing the oil pump with out takeing the motor out?

If youre going to use the ARP pump shaft, you will need to modify the 5.0 distributor. When Ford introduced the roller cam, they also lengthened the distributor shaft 1/2". The ARP pump shaft was designed for the older shorter distributors. It has a barreled body with 1" hex portions at each...
