"Dear wht-v6-vert, You have received an infraction at Mustang Forums at StangNet. Reason: Insulting Other Member(s) / General Insulting or Abrasive Behavior, Confronting Staff in Open Forum ------- I let it slide the first time when you wanted to test the waters, but the second time is a no...

    swapping 07 v6 to a v8

Do you guys have girlfriends? Maybe you should look into that instead of getting absolutely anal about being the smartest guy in Mustang cyberspace. People use this forum, for the most part, to talk about what color they like best and how an after-market exhaust sounds. This ain't rocket...

    swapping 07 v6 to a v8

Matt, it must be burden to know everything. I would wager that you have never never torn a car apart in your life. If you ever get your hands dirty, you'll find that when you change drive train components you look for the simplest solutions. I am confident that someday, with a little...

    swapping 07 v6 to a v8

It is interesting that all the experts offering advice on this issue have absolutely no experience swapping engines. The issue is entirely the computer in the car. There are after-market closed loop induction systems that will allow ford v8s to run autonomously, in any car. You will need to...

Anybody store stang in an outdoor bubble?

Has anybody used one of those outdoor inflatable bubbles to store their car in? It looks like a great idea when you read about it on the web. I've got the three cars and two car garage problem, and looking for a place to store the Mustang for the winter.

    Making more headroom

Convertibles have more head room than coupes. I think its about an inch. I'm a diminutive 6'3" and I had a tough time in a coupe loaner car. The wife's convertible is very comfortable for me.

    Engine block painting.....

Take it from an old guy - Ford engines are Ford Blue not red! You really can't paint an engine with out pulling it out of the car and steam cleaning it. There used to be order in the universe, Ford engines are blue, Chevy's are orange

    Anyone Leasing Their Mustang?

When you lease a car you get hosed. Not some of the time, every time. Leases were set up so people could drive cars they can't afford to buy, and they end up paying a hell of a cost per mile to look good in that Benz or Beemer.

    Factory Navigation in a 2005

Anybody installed a Ford factory navigation system in an 05 mustang? I bought one and had it programed for my 05, when I get some time in a few days it's going in. The guy that did the programing for me said it is a 50-50 shot that it will work with out error codes in a 05. There doesn't...

Ever put your pony in a stable?

If you don't sell that car you are going to take a horrible financial beating. Cars depreciate and deteriorate over time no matter what you do to them. What would a brand new, zero mile 2004 Mustang be worth today? Not much more than one that has been driven, and it would probably have...

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

LuS1fer (may I call you Lu?), you’ve provided an entertaining essay on the car culture on the UK, and European popular culture in general. You obviously put a lot of thought and effort into your posts and they were fun to read. Thanks.

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

I can’t remember what this thread was originally about, but I am very pleased you have an interest in American muscle cars. I am unable to abandon this discourse without confessing to have been an automotive anglophile as a youngster. My first car was an MG TF 1500, bought for $50 when I was...

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

Your UK team spirit is admirable, if a little odd from the US perspective. As a nation of immigrants, where the “..tired huddled masses, yearning to breathe free, the retched refuse of your [Europe’s] teaming shore..” are welcomed with open arms, we in America are often bemused by the...

    Wingless S197 - Discuss.

My 5'2" wife couldn't see out the back when we bought the '05 so I had the dealer take the spoiler off. They filled the holes with stainless steel carrage bolts. It dosen't look too bad, but I've been asked what the four little metal things are for. The damn dealer charged me $100, but that...

Clarkson rants on Americans and Mustang

You are absolutely correct. You seem to have a passing interest in cars, so let me elucidate the American perspective on automotive culture. It is no coincidence that Route 66 began its meander to Los Angles in Chicago. The exact spot where Route 66 began, at State St. and E. Adams in the...

You Limeys do your homework. Metro Chicagoland is 9.6 million. That 2.8 million is just within the city limits. There have even been a few Welsh Warriors over the years: http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/1333.html I admire your attention to detail.
