    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Yeah, I'll have to feel it out and see how I feel after driving it a bit. Seems like there are a decent amount of people running the same MC/Booster setup without issue.

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Thanks. Yeah, I haven't been able to drive it much yet, but It felt nice for the couple of miles I was able to driving around.. Pedal is a lot harder than it was before, so it'll take some getting used to. I didn't notice any Diff cover clearance issues with my newly installed FMS 3.55s. I...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Car is just about done! Still need to get E-brake working properly, an alignment, and perhaps play around with the bias.

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Car smokes a little, has what appears to be some lifter noise, and the front of the engine leaks a decent amount of oil. Just needs a general refresh. Yeah, I'm still waiting to see what quote he pulls together for the engine and all the work involved for installation. Off the top of his head...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Some of the parts are slightly used and he got them in a trade: Heads, distributor, intake, oil pan. Probably why they are a bit of a mixture. Do you think any of the parts listed would clash with one another causing issues? As for the tfs stage 2, I think he's used it for a few other builds and...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Yeah, I'm definitely going with bigger brakes out front. Going with the Cobra setup described above afterall. I have some experience racing in Chumpcar, and am sure that the MR-2 I drove and my buddies V6 swapped Miata would slaughter me at the track. I'm just looking at new engines because mine...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Final Plans have been made with builder. Front: 94-95 spindles, 94-04 Cobra Brakes, Stainless lines, 13" Slotted/Cross-Drilled Powerstop Rotors (I know, they're pointless and I should go blank, but they look pretty!) and Rear: Strange Engineering Brackets, 9" housing ends,Strange 28 spline...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Car will be primarily street, but will take part in HPDE events as well. I'm not looking for a track monster, just something I can drive everyday reliably, and have some occasional track fun with. The builder recommended the Wilwood kit for my needs, but said that he's open to other options...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

I'll have a sit down with the builder to discuss soon. Says that there are some disadvantageous of the Cobra swap that I should be aware of. Also, he's not big on the brackets from North Race Cars and having to use shims to center the calipers. Says that for this swap, to do it right I should...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

I really like that 2000 Cobra R front setup. Let me see what it would cost to run that with some matching slotted 11.65s for the rear and black powdercoated calipers. That 15" front is WAY more than what I need haha.

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

I drive the car most of the Summer just cruising around or on fun runs through the local windy roads. I'm not into drag racing, but enjoy the twisties and will probably take it to the occasional HPDE event at Mid-Ohio. SN95 setup does sound more appealing honestly. The guy who is doing the work...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

All great points. I was concerned about all of the items you've just mentioned as well. I certainly prefer 13" rotors out front. If I were to go the 94-95 spindle/Cobra Brake route what would be my best option? I'm looking for something that looks good and performs well. I know that LMR has the...

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, will probably end up getting those kits. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Only build I've seen with the same front brakes has been this one: (No GT40 intake, sorry...) http://www.hotrod.com/articles/project-ron-burgundy-brake-upgrade/

    Brakes Wilwood 5-lug Conversion

Does anybody have experience with these Wilwood brakes (11 in rotor front/ 11 in rotor rear) versus the more common Cobra swaps with 94-95 spindles? I haven't found any Foxbodies that use them. I was considering these along with the Square 18x9 Saleen wheel package from LMR. Any thoughts or...

Fox Rear Speaker Grille Screws (help Appreciated!)

Silly question. What type/size screws retain the rear speakers to the speaker grilles in 1989 GT hatchbacks? My old speaker grilles were apparently modified to hold speakers in from the front, and now that I've purchased new grilles I am not quite sure what screws held the speaker on the grilles...
