    Scarebird conversion

no, scarebird won't give any ideas because scarebird does not know what will fit correctly here... Customers do not like being unwilling guinea pigs - if they know ahead of time that this is a test fit item most are usually are ok with it.

    Disc Brake Conversion

If so, poor Dan would probably have an embolism if he saw our budget offering for small Fords. See that caliper? Celebrity  and the rotor hat? why it's Toyota!   Funny thing about the Toyota rotor - it's bolt pattern and pilot hole are exactly the same size as...

    Disc Brake Conversion

understood - we dealt with a few specialty shops and they said this was the issue they wanted to see solved - one even donated a KH caliper and 14 x 5" styled wheel, supposedly the bitch-kitty to fit disc to. I understand the issue with pushy sales. I try to let my stuff speak for itself; I...

    Disc Brake Conversion

Not true. The stock 14" 64-73 drum wheels will not clear any Granada combo, rotor pilot trimmed or not. The 68-80 type rotor would need to be trimmed to 10-5/8" OD and caliper moved inboard to fit. Also, your premise about most converting to disc also going aftermarket rims is skewed - we...

Poor Brake Pressure after front disc install

oh, and the silicone thing scares the hell out of us: the pedal rod may swing up to 10°, tearing up the bond. If you must use a S10 master, pull out the piston and bore a hole 1" deep for the rod to reside in.

Poor Brake Pressure after front disc install

The reason we spec out the 74 Maverick unit is it has a good hydraulic match to the S10 calipers. This deal with the quick take up calipers is not a big thing; if you do the math you find it is worth maybe 1/4" of pedal swing. 90% of the time we find either inadequate bleeding or defective...

Brakes; Disc conversion, Power, SS lines, questions!

will those fit inside the 14" rims? Our experience using 11" rotors is no, hence our 10-1/4" rotor combination.

    has anyone used?

*sigh* So which is it? You are talking out of both sides of you mouth here. Please elaborate exactly what you did for 35 years to qualify you to judge the engineering here - and kindly use that "knowledge" to explain to us how a 0.240" piece of flat steel is going to fail. We're...

    has anyone used?

One of the unfortunate things about the internet is any fool with access to an IP can post whatever stray thoughts are bouncing around their empty heads. To paraphrase Twain or somebody wittier than me the rumours of my banning are premature. Hearne's understanding of engineering is as...

About the discount - that was in 2006, awhile back. Beer was cheaper then.

Finished the scarebird conversion, a few notes.

I do not believe that is the issue. We have used many post 1979 GM calipers with no ill effect. The amount of piston retraction is minimal: this is accomplished by the seal having been "coined" - formed with a radial twist. We have been told the amount of retraction at the caliper is about...

Who has the best disc conv. kit

Ours does two things well- it fits in all Ford 14" rims, and if you buy just the brackets, is quite affordable. Plus it is very easy to install and does not muff up the alignment. :D

    Installing scarebird power disc brakes

Easiest and cheapest way to do this with a power booster is to use a 67 disc master with a thread adapter on the front line, and plumb in an adj. prop valve in the rear line- this will keep you from locking up the rears with dire results- especially in the wet!

65 REAR DRUMS ON 14" Wheels

Brian, largest disc with ours or anybody else's to fit inside a 14" stock rim would be a 10-1/4" disc. I have heard differing reports on fitment of our- I think it depends on width; 6" or wider fit fine for the rear. E-mail if you have any questions.

Disc for 4 lug 67-69 now available

We now offer a conversion for 1967-69 4 lug Ponys. You will need to reuse you drum hub, but we have doped out an easy way to remove the old studs without mangling the splines in the hubs. This will fit inside a stock 14" rim, and hose routing works good too. Drop by and say hi if interesed...

67-73 4 lug drum hub needed

We are trying to verify that our 4 lug setup for the earlier years will work on a 67-later 4 lug car. If you have a spare laying around, especially if the drum is shot- I would like to buy the hub. 425 422-0273 M-Sat 9-6pm Pacific, or [email protected]

Well, Scarebird front discs DON'T WORK!!

Sorry, you are wrong on two counts. 1st, we do get quite a few direct questions from this board- which we answer to the best of our knowledge. Just because we do not post here all the time does not mean we do not answer questions. 2nd- If the K-H setup was so great? why did Ford pitch it in...
