    HELP no spark off coil!!

I had that problem before.. one of your EEC grounds are bad (should be 2 or 3 if i remember correctly ). Double check your grounds, i'm sure one is bad.

    Throttle Body Size? Brand?

I'm with Joe on this one.. i don't see the point on building a nice HCI car and putting a small TB on it. A smaller TB may be a wiser choice for something that spends most of its time as a driver, and a bigger TB for something more racier but either way SOTP I doubt you'll ever tell the...

    Engine A Little Help Please.

If i remember correctly the 255 is a small bore 302 heads and intake has oval passages rather then rectangular ports. Best thing I can suggest is getting the heads and intake off of a later model 302 and going that route. Only thing is that im not sure if the valves will clear the cylinder bore...

Drivetrain 91 5.0 Stalls When I Try To Shift Gears

You need to read more thoroughly... I said that it wasn't necessarily true that the vss had to be bad. I didn't "shoot down" your idea. I guess I must have hurt your feelings... I don't need to do a search..and frankly I don't give a crap what you think. Look at my post count and when I became...

Drivetrain 91 5.0 Stalls When I Try To Shift Gears

Yes, the vss sends a signal to the EEC to help the computer infer/ determine load. This is a fair statement, some EEC's are more finicky/ sensitive than others to these things due to the different programs. I'm not doing a search on vss and stalling, I've been doing this long enough and...

    Engine Cobra 1.7 Rr Trouble

If memory serves I was trying to get the lash tighter on the valves and wasn't paying attention to the torque wrench.

    Engine Cobra 1.7 Rr Trouble

I had the same problem when I installed mine on my Edelbrock heads. I replaced mine with the ones from summit and didn't have a problem since. However I think the whole problem was b/c i messed up the torque sequence/ procedure.

    Engine Gt 40 Head Question

Generally you don't need to step up to Mass Air until you start playing with the cam. I had Edelbrock RPMs and a Holley Systemax II intake on my last car with a stock cam and ran great, swapped to Mass Air Flow after I cammed it.

Drivetrain 91 5.0 Stalls When I Try To Shift Gears

That's not necessarily true.. the vss does help the computer control fuel enrichment and indicates load, but my car is supposed to have a vss but i never installed one ( MAF swap EEC) and I do not have this problem.

Drivetrain 91 5.0 Stalls When I Try To Shift Gears

Id say reset your idle air adjustment, sounds like its too low. If not I'd start looking for vacuum leaks.

What happens when you disconnect the MAP?

I'm curious what actually happens when you disconnect the MAP in our cars? I know the computer assumes base values for the MAP reading. Does it affect ? ignore any other sensors, or functions i the process? Does it affect the fuel tables? If so does any one know in what way? Thanks Mike

    smog pump ?

I'd just pull it off all together assuming you aren't required to have it for inspection. Should only be two or three bolts and then the hose. You'd either need to plug the hose off, or remove the rest of the air injection system TAV/ TAB valves, cross over tube and air pipe.

Ned help Bad! Bucks, vaccum prob, timing issues.. at my wits end.

Yes, i verified it, Even went back over the wires and the injector harness to see if i somehow swapped one. It all checks out. I installed the cam dot to dot, straight up.. didn't advance or retard it since i have a standard timing set. I'll have to try the balance test when i get home...

Ned help Bad! Bucks, vaccum prob, timing issues.. at my wits end.

Well there in lies a lot of the problems.. I went a step further to pin point vac leaks and borrowed a friends "Smoke Pro" ( Smoke Pro® Offical Site - Redline Detection - EVAP Smoke Machine ) and there are no vacuum leaks. Plugs wires cap rotor are all new when i did the swap 2 weeks ago. Bosch...

    Water pump help! please!

Yes the direction matters. You will have to run a idler pulley on the drivers side so the belt has sufficient "wrap" on the pump pulley.

Here's the story.. put a mark VII motor in swapped in a e-cam ran w stock heads for awhile.
