Cold Hard Cash $$$ Burning my pocket

There are minor cosmetic differences between the 98s and the 96-97s, no clock pod, metal SVT engine tag, etc. I personally think they're more collectible and hold value a little better. Check State Farm for insurance, I had AAA and State Farm was 20% lower for my Mustangs. My Cobra is for...

    Lowering Spring Questions?

They are Ford Racing, specifically for lowering 'verts. I think they have just a higher rate rear spring. The drop will be too much for me in the rear though.

    Lowering Spring Questions?

My plans are to lower my car eventually, mostly for looks, but I don't want to give up handling either. I will be using Ford G springs or a combo of Gs on the front and Cs on the rear (for less rear drop). I will put caster/camber plates on at that time. When do you need offset rack...

    2004 MACH 460 SPEAKER REPLACEMENTS??

If you have to ask... Consult an audio professional with what you want. The factory system is balanced pretty well with the amps and speakers as stock. You're not going to gain much just changing speakers, IMO.

Calling all Cobra owners! Need your opinions!

I went from a 1998 GT to my current Cobra after 5 years, and wished I'd done it sooner! The Cobra as stock, is as quick as my full bolt-on GT was. Not to mention the Cobra looks and the limited production status. Do it!

What is "Hand built with pride"

It's a cool feature of SVT cars, but really overrated. The GT motors are handbuilt as well, just not by two people. What...did you think robots build engines?

    Trailer Hitch for 99 Cobra

If I could only have one vehicle and still needed to pull a trailer... I'd sell my Cobra and buy a Lightning. I did see a silver 94-98 GT with a custom matching trailer made from the rear clip of another 94-98 GT once though. That was the only exception I'd make, personally.

    noise in valvetrain

I have similar noise from mine at only 15,000 miles, noticeable when the driver's side is next to a wall. Some valvetrain noise is "normal" with our engines. I listen to every other Cobra I get a chance to compare but haven't determined what is normal yet. Kinda drives you crazy though, I'm...

    license plate hole pugs ?????

Try a hardware store for some plastic plugs (paint them to match) or the factory plastic molded bracket looks OK with a vanity plate. If you are going to re-paint it, just use a urethane repair kit to fill the holes.

    Need new clutch opinions/experience please...

That was going to be my next question... How do you like the aluminum flywheel? Noticeable acceleration improvment or revving faster? Ever notice downsides on the street? I was considering doing one at the same time as the clutch.

What does unplugging your battery do to your car's computer?

Yes to all above, but my last 1998 GT used to run a .15 sec quicker quarter right after dumping the memory. The trans had a quirky shift and it was probably just running lean until it re-learned, but it was faster. (I kept resetting mine to turn off the rear O2 monitor "check engine" light...

    Need new clutch opinions/experience please...

Yeah, I thought it smelled funny when you got back. At least that ride motivated you to work on your car! Cobra envy is tough, huh?

    Need new clutch opinions/experience please...

Yeah, the SPEC website sells their product well. I like the fact that they list them by power and usage levels. I tried to get the same info from Centerforce, they made a recommendation but didn't give details. I have a Centerforce II in my Jeep Wrangler and love it, very smooth engagement...

    Need new clutch opinions/experience please...

I'll look at the SPEC clutches. Which Centerforce model did you have? The I and II are a somewhat of an improvement over stock, the Dual Friction is supposed to be pretty tough.

    Need new clutch opinions/experience please...

I have traction now thanks to the 315/35 Nitto meats but I got the first signs of my clutch slipping yesterday. So far my choices have been narrowed down to the Ford King Cobra setup (10.5" or 11" upgrade?) or a Centerforce Dual-Friction. Opinions on these or others? I'm not even...

    Nitto Drag Radials /Bfg

The Nitto D/Rs run small. I have a 315/35/17 on a 10.5 rear and NO rubbing at all even during aggresive cornering. I had a 315/35/17 Goodyear GS-C before that hit the quad shock and the inner fender under normal driving conditions.

    I think i need a DRIVESHAFT

The Ford one is a nice piece, I'm not familiar w/ the Steeda. Some cars get the vibe with a gearswap, some don't. From what I hear it has to do with the stock DS only being balanced to 1800-2500 rpms at Visteon, while the aftermarket ones get spun up higher and also the Al absorbs some of...
