Looking for Red Brick or Saddle Upholstery for '11 Mustang GT

Hey All, Does anyone know where I can find red brick or saddle upholstery and door panel inserts for a 2011 Mustang? Does anyone know who the vendor is that makes the upholstery for Ford? I have the charcoal black leather now and am interested in changing it out. I contacted the dealer...

    Shaker 1000 and Navigation system

I'm actually not sure on that--does anyone know what the aftermarket is offering (NAV, radio) that is compatible? I was thinking I could add an amp and subs to the factory radio but wondered if the stock speakers could handle the higher output?

    Shaker 1000 and Navigation system

Hey all, Just got a new '11 GT without the NAV and with the Shaker 500. I considered the 1000 and NAV but figured I could do better with aftermarket. I'm pretty happy with the 500 system but could see upgrading in the future. Any specific suggestions for an aftermarket amp and subs to...

Steeda CAI How do you like it?

Hey, Considering adding this to my new GT. Does anyone know if the Steeda CAI and tune void the factory warranty? Anyone run into any warranty issues with Ford when using the CAI and tune? Thanks!

What Could I Get for my ’68 Project?

All, I am considering selling my ’68 project and wanted to get some feedback on what I might be able to get for the car/project. Its unfinished and is not a driver—I am considering whether to put more time in and finish or sell as is. Also, still just considering selling, I might sit on it a...

    Exhaust Syst. Suggestions: 302/4spd Toploader?

Thanks for the info! So the stock GT exhaust + HP manifolds will bolt right in? That sounds like a good option. What kind of clearance do you have around the bellhousing with that exhaust? With the z-bar, those two don't look too different, I bet I could get mine to clear the same way that...

    Exhaust Syst. Suggestions: 302/4spd Toploader?

Hey all, I have a 302 with a 4speed Top Loader and am looking to replace my poor-fitting Tri-Y headers and possibly the whole system and would like some suggestions. Does anyone have a set up that works without modification (i.e., bolt-on)? The Tri-Y's had major clearance problems with my...

    Getting My 302 Running Again

Hey All, So I have been in the process of getting a 1971 302 running again after sitting for about 7 years in a garage. As far as I know, its running a stock cam, heads, and pistons/bore. I bough the engine off a friend's donor car years ago, and it was supposedly rebuilt, but in retrospect...

    Clearcoating Crome and Trim?

Hey everyone, thanks for the replys. I didn't know that about the early Vettes, that's interesting that the factory did that with success. Although it sounds like--for my options of a spray can of clear coat over chrome--its not a good idea. I guess I'll just stock up on polish. Is it just...

    65- mustang bucket seats

I have a '68 and am using a pair of '98 Mustang seats. They are OK but sit a little high for me (I'm about 6'1"). They are an improvement over my borken stock seats though. You can use the stock 60s seat tracks but need to do some drilling on two of the four holes where the tracks attach to...

    Clearcoating Crome and Trim?

Hey All, I have several chrome and metal trim pieces that are showing some aging but not too far gone. Mainly on the bumpers and the wheels where some light rust is forming. I can clean it up, but wondered if anyone has tried clearcoating chrome and metal trim? Can it be done and would it...

    Which Clutch To Use?

I've been installing a stock clutch and linkage on my 302 / 4spd. With the z-bar, does anyone know of shims or bushing that can take some of the wear out of the z-bar pivot? I have a used z-bar and new frame and engine side mounts. Its not terrible, but a little loose.

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

As for using a larger bolt, I did some searching on this and seems like there are two theories. One, its fine; two, you could throw off the crankshaft balance. While I was able to fix this with the same size bolt, I considered using a larger bolt as a last resort if retapping failed. I...

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

Hey, I feel your pain! I think if you can retap and get a new bolt to torque to spec you should be OK, though I personally wouldn't use the bolt anymore to turn the engine. I used locktite, too, for a little added security. Sounds like we had the same problem, I couldn't get the bolt to...

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

Success! I picked up the installer and had the balancer back on the engine by late this afternoon. Used locktite on the new bolt and was able to torque it back to spec. Looks like it worked! Thanks again for everyone's help, thought that crankshaft was a goner.

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

I was able to retap the threads on the crankshaft. I used lots of oil and cleaned the threads out every couple turns. Also made sure to run the tap back in again, now it threads in smoothly. I tracked down a new bolt, picking that up tomorrow and plan to reassemble this week. As far as...

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

Thanks, I'll give it a try tomorrow evening and let you know how it goes. If I can run the tap do you think there will be enough material left with a re-thread to hold the balance in place? Should use locktie or anything on the bolt?

    302 Crankshaft Thread Problem

Yeah, on the tap I used a small wrench after threading it in by hand, and on the actual bolt I used a socket wrench, slowly, until it got stuck, and then I tried to back it out with a socket, got stuck on the way out, so I used an impact.
