Looking for free/cheap weight reduction idea's

I am not sure on the differences on the insides of the doors to conert them over. I'd say order a new set for the early 80's would be your best bet. Paint them up when you paint the fiberglass hood up and and the newer style trim to disguise the older model doors on the outside. I'm wondering...

You are going to have to bypass where your hoses connect to the firewall with a new piece of hose.

    Headers and Flanges

If it were only that easy. He ordered the stuff from the main land. Price of shipping it back would be outrageous. I told him to try to sell either the pipes or the headers to someone here on island and then order in the right stuff to complete it.

    Headers and Flanges

My buddy is trying to recreate my exhaust system on his car. He bought a MAC 2 1/2" o/r H Pipe and a set of Flowtech Longtubes, 1 5/8" Primary w/ 3" collectors and 2 1/2" reducers. He wasn't listening well and ordered the wrong stuff. The 3" collector comewith a 3 bolt flange. The H-Pipe has a 2...

Fenderwell Cold Air or March Ram Air

I don't get to drive the car much, other than work and back which is about a mile and a half down the road. But here in Hawaii it rains about everyday. I was thinking about not using the scoop at all and running the hose into the fog light inlet. I figured that would eliminate some of the big...

    Tranny Removal help

Just be patient with the bolts on the bellhousing. They are a pain in the ass on the top side to get a socket on, but the angles are there. It helps to loosen your motor mount bolts a little to make more room.

With some mods you can change your doors out to the old school crank windows. I am pretty sure the early 80's are the same as 90's in size and shape. The window motors and the electric locking motors are heavy.

Fenderwell Cold Air or March Ram Air

I have searched the threads but can't find the answer I am searching for. I see the prices between BBK's fenderwell cold air and March's ram air are about the same. I am wondering what will give the better performance though. I've heard both good and bad about the ram air. Anyone have any...

What the hell was Ford thinking??

My car originally had an AOD (swapped some years ago). Something I figured out by mistake was you can start in first, kick it to drive and allow it to shift to second, then put it back down into first. The trans has a fail safe that will not allow it back into first until you roll slower than 32...

RAM Air will give a sound. Might think about looking into that in the future. Few extra horses to. If you're into the noise makers.

    bypassing smog pump Q"s

It can be done. I did it to mine a long time ago. Just pay attention to the belt tensioner and the distance between the belt as it passes itself. Might have to bend the stop up on the adjuster to gain a little more room. You'll have to put on a belt that is tight as hell. Remember, that belt...
