How to identify stock Bullitt springs

I haven't seen a Bullitt Spring in person, but there is probably a red tag on spring that identifies it; my Mach 1 springs had "MACH" on the tag.

    H&R SuperSports owners COME IN

Leave the isolators in, and cut 1/3 coil off the front springs.

    Are Bilsteins REALLY worth it?

And their valving is terrible, in comparison (corner-carving, that is). I had Bullitt struts on my GT, and the stock Tokico's all around on the Mach; the difference was night & day when I switched to the blue HP's.

    lowering springs

I lowered my GT 2" and didn't need CC plates to get in alligned within spec.. never changed my struts either. I lowered the Mach 1 1.25 all around and needed CC plates badly. To get an idea if you'll need plates, check to see where your stock plates are located; if the rivet is in the middle...

    Are Bilsteins REALLY worth it?

The Mach 1 struts sucked after I lowered my car. I hear Bilsteins are good but rough, so I bought Tokico HP's and I'm very satisfied.. and they're cheap too. :nice:

    rack bushings

Don't do offset, just get regular poly or aluminum bushings.

    Shifter noise

All aftermarket shifters produce more noise, even the fabled MGW. :p I installed the factory shift handle on my Tri-Ax and it's pretty much silent. :nice:

    steeda 4-bolt cc plates

I've heard the Steeda ones are good, but aren't they more expensive than the MM's? I've tried UPR & MM, and I'd definitely recommend the MM's along with everyone else.

    Camber Adjustments

If the Corral's Website was working right now I'd post a link.. they have a good writeup on their page illustrating a driveway allignment. As for me, I will be taking my car to the local Ford dealer Friday for my allignment to get corrected. If getting within the stock specs is not possible...

    Car got Keyed tonight

Damn.. I'd explode! Lol. Definitely sux man. I often worry that I'll come out to something similiar when I go out. Sad to say, but the more stuff you add to make your car to make it stand out, the higher the chance you get key/egged/whatever. If I ever broke down and ordered some 18" chrome...

    Camber Adjustments

Thanks. I may even end up just getting CC plates, but for now I would like to just move the stockers outward a tad. Had I known that tire shop intended pull a rape, I would have adjusted the plates when I had the springs/struts out. So just loosen the CC bolts a tad, and the loaded suspension...

    Camber Adjustments

Last weekend I finished up my spring install, which lowered the car approx 1" all around. Knowing I needed an allignment, I took my car to the same shop that alligned my slammed 00'Gt twice equipped with the stock CC plates; the GT was brought to something like -1.1 & -1.3. So after being...

    Sub frame connector Question

High temp engine paint. I have Kenny Brown Super Subs which I bought to replace my flimsy stock pieces. The car felt tighter after the install so I'm happy - had the same subframes on my previous 2 cars and they did their job well. If given the chance for a free swap to full length I go for...

    Mach 1 F$%^ed tr3650 tranny

Odd. I had no trouble getting my local dealer to do the TSB on my T-3650. At times I wish I didn't do the fix though, cause my tranny doesn't shift quite as smooth regardless of fluid level or fluid type. Also, I know some people have issues getting into reverse with this tranny, but I didn't...

car slammed on curb.. possible damage?

Forum classifieds or Ebay for Cobra R rims. Hopefully you didn't damage too much. I slid my first stang into a curb at around 30mph. The passenger side wheel took the blow. Result: cracked rim, blemished tire (but okay!), bent control arm, and a little frame damage. This happened in the...

    cutting front springs

Your springs may have been cut excessively or heat was used, but I also speak from personal experience - my GT rode great with one coil removed from the front springs. *I had Ford B springs in the back, and for the life of me could not get the B front's in during the install. Ended up cutting...

Sticks in reverse every now and then...what causes that?

I miss my T45! Never had any issues with it, TOB chirp aside. I took my car in for the T-3650 shift grind, and after the 'fix' it became a PITA getting my car into reverse when it's hot outside. People behind me probably wonder what the hell is going on seeing my reverse lights go on again...

Do you have a clutch freeplay correction kit?

My TOB is squeaking.. I've tried engaging the factory quadrant a tooth higher, and although that cures my idle chirp it eventually causes a more rapid chirp while driving. Before I swap out the clutch entirely, I would like to try LDC's freeplay correction kit on my factory setup. The ad says...
