    Toploader Question

I have a Toploader with a Hurst Competition shifter that I want to put in my 66 A Code Coupe (currently has a 3 speed in it). The numbers on the TopLoader are as follows: RUG AV 1 023563 D2AR 7006-CA W2 I read the article in Mustang Monthly, and now know the tranny is for 70-71...

Do the Hedmans fit without any mods with the TopLoader? Do you have a standard clutch (i.e. zbar setup)?

    Autolite 4100 Secondaries Not Opening

I have a 66 A Code with an Autolite 4100. The carb had a tag on it when I got it saying it had been "remanufactured by Holley" - though I have no idea when that was done. I cannot tell if the secondaries are opening or not. A fellow here in Atlanta said they are not, and offered to rebuild it...

    Carb help needed

OK - after searching through several forums and reading the shop manual, I thought I had a good idea of how to set the mixture... NOT.:( I have an Autolite 4100 on a 66 A Code. I ended up at one point in time with the needles all the way in (I gather this is the most "lean" it can be) and the...

    Subframe Connectors

yeah... I am thinking I am just going to give up, cut them off, put in new springs, new bushings, and subframes... all at the same time... just means I have to wait... patience - not too good at that.

    Subframe Connectors

You all were right - only had to take the weight off because the rear bolt uses the front leaf spring bolt hole (it provides its own bolt). However, I could not get the bolt out. :( I am not sure what to do now. I tried the "use another bolt" trick I saw on here (or another forum), and I...

    Subframe Connectors

Here comes the confusing part... the instructions say to have the car with the weight off (i.e. tires hanging)... also, I am going to be removing the front leaf spring bolt (wish me luck on this on). So, do I follow the instructions or the logic you all stated on here? I need to figure this...

    "New" Toploader

I am getting a Toploader from a friend to put in my 66 A Code. He says it is pretty straightforward except, "The biggest pain in the ass installing the four speed is adjusting the shift linckages." Can anyone provide any guidance as to what this means and how to do what he is saying? I...

What dual resevior master cyl. will bolt onto my '65

That is not good... :( If I get one like that (drum/drum) then I have to get another when (if) I switch to disc brakes. I really need to find a Granada and make the switch (cheaply) to front discs... :(

Would you go track or would you go street and why?

You will not believe the number of comments I have gotten since I have mentioned the nicknames to my buddies... whew. Thanks again to everyone for their inputs. I will make sure I keep you all up to date. Hammer

    Ignition Issues - long post

It was funny... just ticked at Summit. My dog told me to relax. :) Spark plug question - what kind of plugs do you all use? The car had Bosch Platinum in it when I got, I replaced them with NGKs that Summit sent me, just got some Autolites to replace those with (they are what I used to...

    Ignition Issues - long post

I just switched plugs (an old Bosch Platinum which was in the car when I got it) - works like a charm. SOB. Here is the scorecard for Summit Racing right now: CRAPPY - sent me the wrong cap and rotor - almost was right - found out with the rotor was destroyed inside the cap - ruining the...

    Ignition Issues - long post

Just read Krash's post, so I have not tried what he indicated... however... Update I checked the dist., cap, rotor, pertronix, checked the wires to make sure all were on securely - I even rerouted and "changed" wires (#1 wire and #3 wire were switched due to length issues). I started the car...

    Ignition Issues - long post

Poop - forgot to disconnect the vacuum advance last night. :( I did not use a vacuum gauge - I followed the Ford shop manual. The timing light was used to set the timing initially - I took the car for a test drive (3 - 5 min) and when I got back, it was not working. I don't have another car...

    Ignition Issues - long post

OK - the wires (Taylor SpiroPro from Summit) registered 485 for the full length wires (greater than a foot), the coil wire (about a foot) registered 385 or so - I thought those were supposed to be really good wires... guess not. :( Dizzy cap looked good, as did the rotor, and the inside looked...
