    What year cobra to buy?

96-98 Cobras have the same heads which have two intake ports per cylinder. The fuel is only injected into the primary port so the secondary port and it's valve are prone to getting "gunked" up. Not all 98s have return fuel systems. You can put a fuel pressure gauge on both the returnless...

No longer available from Ford. Ford Racing FR500 DOHC High Lift Camshaft Kit - '96-'04. Aftermarket cams from Comp Cams run $1200, springs $399, valve seals $100 retainers $100 and you would still need to spend another $200 on followers and at least $500 on valves to match what's...

FYI-> Big Trouble at VT Engines~!!

They did do some good things but the responsible thing to do would be to stop taking orders when the ship is sinking. A lot of people got screwed because of that alone.

    96-98 cobra mods

The problem is not with the balancing, it's with the cheaper balancers ability to dampen harmonics. Piggyback pulleys are the worst possible potion while the March Fluid dampener is the best. A properly done short runner will give you another 20rwhp at peak and raise the peak another...

    97 cobra motor in a 98 gt ?

Do not change any harnesses. Use the stock harness and lengthen the wires that need it. Do a search on Corral, SVTP and Modular Depot Here's one: just type in "modular depot" (with no space) where the * are http://forums.************.com/4-6l-4v-tech/100680-write-up-2v-4v.html

    96-98 Cold Air Intake

The best bang for the buck is a K&N type filter and the stock airbox. The stock airbox brings in cold air and the stock tube is capable of providing more air than what is needed for any n/a 4.6 4v. Most honest tuners will tell you that. The CAIs look good but provide very little, if any...

How to tell if IMRC runners are operating properly?

It's relatively painless task that even the inexperienced mechanic can handle with the right instructions. Get yourself a Haynes manual and tool set and have at it. I can probable even scan the necessary pages for you if you want to seee what you would be getting into.

How to tell if IMRC runners are operating properly?

Don't mess with it until you find out if they are working. Put one hand on the IMRC cables at the point where they connect to the IMRC plates/shafts. Using your other hand, open the throttle to bring the rpm to about 5k. At 3250 rpm (give or take a few), you sould feel the IMRC shafts...

98 cobra swap to 99+ heads and intake

You should get about 20rwhp and 20ft lbs from the swap (as long as the heads have a fresh, good quality valve job and you use your 96-98 cams.
