1/4 window sealent material?

well i took my 1/4 windows off to restore the moldings, i was wondering what the black goo is thats around the inside part of the window? silicone?

It's window gasket sealant. Rubbery. Same thing as front windshield used. Can get it about every auto parts store.

It's called window "Eurithane" (hope my spelling is correct!

Thing is a pain to get off isn't it. Get's all over your hands and fingers stick to everything.

The stuff I have used has a limited shelf life so you are better off getting it at an autobody supply place.It can harden in the tube if it is old and most parts stores don't sell enough to keep it fresh.It is usually called urethane window adhesive or urethane window sealant.

Just so you know it is not urethane like around windshields and backglass. It is liquid buytle and you can get it at the same body supply houses. The window has studs because it is to hard to cut out urethane because of the angle and you can damage the outer fender and the outer molding. Liquid Buytle has a 10 year shelf life and never hardens and that is why it is still sticky and is hard to remove. 12 years in the autoglass business.

Speedystang, you da man. But Hey, I used the sealant that the windshield uses and has no problems on many side windows I have installed.

I used the same stuff - buytle (sp?). If you use urethane It would be a bear to take out if you ever had to.
