Well I finally was able to squeeze off some runs with the Mongoose kit. Sunday at Englishtown was very windy, so instead of 1/4 mile they were only running to the 1/8th! :notnice: Next weekend I'll be going back to run it in the 1/4. But alas here is my best time slip of the day.

R/T: .007
60': 2.146
300: 5.495
1/8: 8.212
MPH: 90.36

Anybody here want to make a guess to what to expect in the 1/4? With the 3.73's I'm already shifting to 4th as I pass the 1/8th. I can't even hook worth a damn with my Nittos either now. I used to cut high 1.9's with street tires before, now it's just insane trying to put the power to the ground.

With you hitting over 90mph at the 1/8th mile, my guess would be you're trapping somewhere close to 115mph if not better. I trapped a bit over 80mph in the 1/8 mile, which came to a 102.7 1/4 mile trap. So seeing as you trap 10mph higher than me in the 1/8th AND have gears and extra power, i figure thats good for a 114-116mph trap speed.
Sooo, going off trap speed alone, which isn't too accurate, i'd guess a good 12.6@115 if not a bit better.
Can't wait to get my Mongoose kit :D

Hey it's all about havin' fun too! It's also nice to see that some of us are making it out to the track still.

Good numbers regardless. Just being able to take out a LS1 is enough for most of us lol.... Ok forget I said that :nonono:

:D

:SNSign:

You serious 12.8-13.0? Based off my previous NA runs I'm sure as hell pulling more than 5 mph in my traps already in the 1/8th. No F'n way a 13.0...I was just shifting to 4th, and that's where the party gets started! I would have thought a little better than that considering my time NA and an additional 100+ hp.

No kidding...actually this was the first time in about 2 years I've been to the track. I would have liked to have gone sooner, but other things just got in the way. If weather cooperates this weekend I'll get my 1/4 mile passes out of my system and then she can hibernate for another winter.

LSWhat? j/k..here comes God punishing me now!

Yeah I'm serious. Fact is vortech doesn't give you ANY power till nearly 4000RPM with stock pulley. I'll give you an extra .1 because of the gears, so maybe 12.7-12.9 on street tires. These cars are hard to get out of the hole with street tires/crappier drag radials (non-bias ply "street" type radials in general). If you could pull 1.7's you sould be doing 12.6's.

You're kidding right? A bolt on GT can run a 12.6 if it pulled a damn 1.7 60'

With a 1.7 60', a vorteched GT like his would be pushing 11's. That car is easily capable of 12.5-12.6's and trapping at the least, around 112. No way in hell he traps only 5mph faster than my pretty much stock GT

Sorry Benny you be wrong, and I have the proof to back it up :D .

My car ran an 8.27 1/8 @ 86 and pulled a 12.79 @ 108.8. NO WAY Dans car is even running 12.7 with that run, much less a 12.7-13.0.....Dan, your ATLEAST a 12.6 or better(probably a 12.4) . And that S/C will be pulling harder on the big end than my car. Ill say a good 114-115MPH 1/4 trap.

Werd

fwiw - i ran a 8.2 @ 90 at the 1/8th on my 1st trip to the 1/4. the 1/4 ended up being a 12.6......with a trap of 103 :rlaugh:

difference is i have 4.10's & i let out at 3/4 track due to being out of gear :D so with you staying in it, i'd say low 12's. to be nice & general about it :)

Then why is it my 423rwhp car runs 12.55's on a race prepped track (ORP prepped for the MAC Tools US Nationals LOL) with 1.78 60', 112mph trap (average)? Granted I'm on stock 3.27's, and most gear I've ever run are 3.55's (running 12.5's@115mph). Fact is non-intercooled FI cars don't run as fast at comparable dyno power levels as intercooled and NA setups. When going through 4 gears the intake charge just gets hotter and hotter losing lots power - I might make 400+ on the dyno, but at the track its more like 380 after 3rd. These cars are piggies too, it's not like a fox where 400hp gets you deep into the tens.

I also have no traction in 2nd on MT et street radials...so that might have something to do with it though...lol

haha i hope he can run better than 13.0. my vert went 8.2 in the 1/8 and went 12.9 :rlaugh:

my first trip out with my s trim started out as a 12.8 @ 113, a 12.5 @ 114 and an 11.99 @118.7 .

the difference in those passes were that i powershifted the last one. the 11.9 was with only a 1.77. the last pass i pulled a 1.65 and blew the tires off and had to get out of it.

your car should be good for mid to low 12's once you figure out how to finesse those dr's

i make similar power & ran the 12.6 coasting, & blowing 2nd gear off (literally bounced off the limiter). now granted the whole IC this is soooooooo true, i drop et & mph alot when i hotlap. only difference is i have 4.10's, but i'll still hotlap those times (8.2's) or better (WORST is usually an 8.4). this is on nitto drags, cutting 1.9 to 2.0 60's
