Have searched the archives and am looking for some additional input. Have a 68 convertible and have purchased a set of 68 styled steel wheels which is a 14x7 rim. Thinking about going with 225/60 R14's or 235/60's.
Anyone have any rec's?
Thanks,

Do you have power steering? If you don't then you may want to stay with 225 in the front. You may also want to go with P225/70R14 since you have 14 inch wheels.

As for tires, I would say that BFG Radial TA, Firestone Firehawk, Cooper Cobra, Goodyear Eagle GT II, would be good choices.

Did you think a bit wider looking 245-60-14? You can get the BFG TA in that size, they are in stock at TireRack. That is what I am getting to replace my current tires if I don't go with some new wheels. Although not sure what the stock wheel specs are for if it would fit in the well? I am running the 245's on the back and a 195-70-14 on the front. I don't think it looks bad, and it gives the illusion of the back being wider than they are.

I think it looks good.

How can the front be 295? Do you mean 195?

I don't think that the 245 60s will fit on the front. I think that 235 is about as big as you can go.

If it were mine, I would probably put 225 in the front and 245 rear.

235's will fit the front, so don't worry. If you don't care about rotation go bigger in the back.

On my 69 I run 235/15/60 front and 275/15/60's on the back. THe rear rims are 15x8 though.
